Wanted to like this, but....

The pitcher is a nice heavy plastic, but that's where the 'good' ends. The threads are odd so the lid never really seems right - leaks every time, and the pour spout is ALWAYS off to one side. That drove me NUTS! No matter how I tried to line it up it was never in the front of the pitcher. Annoying! Makes you have to hold it at a wierd angle trying to pour. Then there's the hollow handle... even a baby bottle brush won't get in there right to clean it and if you make iced tea alot it gets GROSS after awhile. Not recommended, won't buy again.

I bought my pitcher from a Walmart Market, not Amazon, but this is the exact same model I have. It's ok. I've never had problems with leaks. What we do have problems with is that it retains smells and is very difficult to clean. The hole in the top is barely big enough for me to put my hand in and reach the bottom to scrub it. The handle is hollow and is impossible to clean. It's gotten mold in it constantly. We live in the south so I know that could be part of it, but I can't reach it to clean so I just have to keep soaking it with bleach water. It's far too much maintenance. I'll be throwing it out and getting some other brand.

Impractical container

Hard to clean, and the cap won't stay open when I pour. Ended up tossing it out when it got too grimy in the hard-to-clean nooks.

Once again, I could get just as good quality at the dollar store. No matter how I put the cap on the spout just wouldn't line up straight. I'm surprised at Rubbermaid, they're slipping. Cost too much to buy this way, if all the items I ordered came from the same vendor and had been sent at the same time then I might of thought it worth it. But everything came separately, posted at different times to my checking account and took way too long to arrive.

I am in the process of changing out all my plastic to BP FREE and if you to not know about BPA then you should really research it because all regular plastic is banned in several countries including Canada.

The short version is plastic is made from oil and sometimes you can see a oil residu on top of the water then you dishwasher makes it come out worse and this gets in our blood and end up causing cancer and so many other health problems.

Do your family a favor, especially young children and throw away your old plastic and replace it with BP free like this container or use glass and get BP out of your life and you will be much healthier.

An addition to my other containers - same size but different color top. I use these to store used cooking oils. One for meat, one for vegetables and one for fries. Unscrew the cap and there's a wide mouth to pour oil in. Open the spout in the cap and there's a lip around the opening to contain any drips.

Carries water, doesnt fit in the fridge, lid leaks.

I got two of these to keep filtered water in the fridge.

first thing i noticed is that it has no flat sides so the only way to put it in the fridge is standing up, well ikf its standing it wont fit on the shelf where i keep my milk. so i had to rearrange the fridge and move a shelf on the door so it would fit in the door which makes opening and closing the door a little awkward (from the 16 pounds worth of water sitting in there.(
so that might not be a real problem, i mean i was going to have to rearrange the fridge to fit any kind of container in there for water.

it works well standing up, the handle is nice and it pours easily (no major spilling or gulping problems) but i noticed that if i fill it with filtered water (i filter rain water for drinking) and then carry it through the house to the fridge, well, it leaks a little. no matter if i tighten it down to past the tight "spot"or just to the tight "spot", it leaks.

and not just one of them, they both do it.
so, i kinda have to carry them upright which isnt a big problem but a little bit of a drag nonetheless.

all in all its OK, i wish it fit my refrigerator differently and i wish it didn't leak but it does its job.

I got this to replace my old 1 gallon pitcher of the same type, which had become hard to clean after years of use. These store nicely in the door of my smaller refrigerator, and although some reviews complain of the lid leaking, I find if I twist the lid on tightly I can shake the pitcher without any problems. Any water underneath the cap in the threads will come out, of course, but not the contents.
