1) (minor) The small rubber nibs in the metal frame that used to keep the wringer hook from slipping out of the mop-head frame have been eliminated. Although this makes the mop-head easier to install, it is also easier for the wringer hook to slip out.
2) (MAJOR) The crimping of the steel frame isn't what it used to be, and the "springiness" of the steel frame also doesn't seem as good as it used to be, which results in the mop head pulling out of the steel frame during the first wringing, even if you have submerged the mop head in water for several minutes to wet it thoroughly prior to wringing. There is a warning on the packaging about getting the mop head thoroughly wet before wringing, but that still won't prevent the cellulose sponge from coming out of the frame before you've even touched the floor with it.
Even though I still buy these mop heads, I have resorted to re-crimping the frame in multiple places along the entire length of the steel frame, using a set of Vise-Grip welding clamps borrowed from our shop, prior to their first use. This is the only effective fix that I have found. After properly re-crimping them, these are still the best sponge-type mop heads you can buy.
Fool me twice: Shame on you
Much like the other half dozen+ negative reviews here on amazon (and not even mentioning comments made on other resellers' sites) the cellulose replacement head for this sponge mop can only be described as a is a piece of crappolla.
After the first sponge became irreparably dislodged the bracket channel after about a dozen uses, we bought a second head. That one was ripped out on the initial use. Save yourself time, money and headaches and do not buy this poorly engineered mop refill.

Works as it should, finally. We had several - 4 or 5 - of these mop heads pull apart, even after complaining and receiving a couple directly from Rubbermaid. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Amazon Customer
Came apart. I gave it a few tries and this has happened several times with this product. Will not purchase again.Published 16 months ago by Wildan1031
We used it once and the sponge came off the metal and had to throw away.Published 19 months ago by Jamie H.
