Allow extra time for delivery. I expected the shed on July 22. That date came and went with no communication from the shipper (NSD). The don’t answer their phones or call back. When I emailed them, I got a response the next day saying simply to check the tracking. The delivery had been rescheduled for August 11. That day came and went with no communication from the shipper. I sent another email to NSD which went unanswered, but I received the shed on Aug 13. The box looked ok except for a big footprint on the top.
Check everything carefully. I laid out the pieces on our front lawn and inventoried everything. There was some damage to several pieces that we didn’t notice until we were actually assembling the shed. Nothing seemed bad enough to have to return the whole thing, but in hindsight, that’s probably what I should have done. However, I needed a shed last month so I really didn’t want to have to wait around for replacement parts or a new shed. Crushed corners and slightly bent edges make it very difficult to assemble. Otherwise, assembly would have been very easy.
We already had a area prepped and level so all we needed to do was assemble the shed. It took 2 and a half hours. That includes making sure all the pieces were included, fussing with the damaged areas. Most of it was done with one person. A second person was needed to hold down the roof pieces as they were screwed in. Pilot holes really helped things go smoothly. There are some spaces where the walls meet the roof panels where bugs/wasps can get in. I may fill those in with spray foam or something.
Our shed is located in a U shaped fenced area so it should be protected from any heavy winds. We haven’t had a rain yet since putting it together so I can’t say how it will hold up in a storm. It seems sturdy enough for a plastic shed. Certainly not as stout as a wood framed one would be.
The doors could probably be pulled off by someone determined enough and as one reviewer mentioned, putting a padlock on it would only serve to keep honest people honest. It won’t even accommodate a thick padlock. You would have to choose a thin one.
Just needed a dry space for some extra storage for the next few years so I wasn’t too worried about getting a top of the line shed. Once we’re done with this I may turn it into a chicken coop.
My advice is have a drill handy and drill pilot holes where the screws are going to be attached. The screws will skate along the plastic surface of you just try to screw them in without first drilling pilot holes. Also don't over tighten the screws.
Other than that, unit is about what I was expecting.
It came damaged, but we chose to keep it because we could not find anything in our area (we just got hit with hurricane Ian, hence, the missing shed).
We had the same one before and if some of the corners were not smashed it might be easier to put together. We managed 😃
I saved on delivery charges buying on Amazon over Home Depot/Lowes, and the base price was about the same so happy about that! I was able to open the box (VERY large and too heavy to lift) at my front door and then move the individual pieces over to my carport for assembly. I put this together by myself in about 3 hours (mid-50s active and average size female). I am not going to say it was easy, but it wasn’t as difficult as some other furniture I have assembled. I was able to follow the instructions with no problem. I would recommend having a partner to help, as I probably could have built this in half the time if I had some help. But it is doable solo if that is the only option. The hardest part to do alone was getting the screws into the proper holes connecting the roof pieces to the walls because you need someone to push the roof piece down outside while someone else is inside screwing them together. I had to find something very heavy that wouldn’t slide off the roof piece to keep it pushed down (I used my beanbag weights in a duffel with a grippy rubber rug mat to keep it from sliding off).
My carport asphalt is mostly level so I did not need to build a foundation for it. It would probably be a good idea to do that regardless, but it will work building it on flat asphalt or concrete. I did have to move it slightly to make sure the floor was flat enough (otherwise the doors will not work right and the integrity of the wall joints will be compromised).
A few months later I am very happy with it, through many days of rain and some intense wind. I have enough heavy things inside to keep it from blowing away in the wind, and I have it installed on the edge of a covered area. It is mostly protected from the worst exposure issues outside and I do not have a problem with water leaks or being musty inside. I am storing things like Christmas decorations, camping equipment and other items in boxes made to protect from moisture and bugs, and I have a few toolboxes and extra wooden dining chairs in there. So far so good!
In 6 months thing thing will have paid for itself with what I am not paying for extra storage, and I am quite happy with it! I can also take it with me if I move. Overall very satisfied and I highly recommend for the type of situation I needed to deal with.
