The most frustrating thing about this is the empty spaces in the walls of the container. When you put your magazines in, they get stuck on the corners and edges (unless you put them in the middle). I guess they were trying to save on materials? But it's not like it makes recognizing the magazines any easier.

The best thing about it is the price: I could not find a reasonably priced holder on Amazon!! These should be costing us pennies! So, I would buy this again if I wanted to save money.

This item is perfect for storing my sports car magazines and my woodworking publications. It would probably be good for storing catalogs, brochures and pamphlets as well.
The price at the time I bought it was very reasonable.
And don't forget the great Amazon Prime Shipping

Flimsy. It is not like the ones I bought at a Target store. The cutouts are bigger leaving less material to hold it structurally. Don't want the hassle of returning all 3 units I bought. Disappointed. The ones I bought at a store were much sturdier.

This is a plastic "magazine" file, which I was using for holding paper and coloring books, things of that nature. It is made by rubbermaid, so I felt it would be a more sturdy plastic construction. The jokes on me, not very stable. I wouldn't order this again.

Nothing much to say. It's exactly what you expect of a vertical magazine file. Worth the price. Standard size. Not fancy. Not ugly.

Rubbermaid Techfile Plastic Magazine File, 3 x 9 5/8 x 11 5/8 Inches, Black (40406ROS)
The plus about this is that it is plastic and not cardboard so you know this will last a lifetime. It stands up good and it's sturdy.
I use mine for organizing folders. Holds 8 thick 11.4inx9.4in folders, and my folders are stuffed. This item would hold even more folders if they aren't stuffed full like mine was.

I don't use this for holding magazines so can't say how it is with magazines, only how it is with holding my folders.

The corners of magazine covers have a bad tendency to hang up on the multiply perforated sides, potentially damaging or ripping the issue if it is inserted carelessly in immediate proximity to the side. I prefer plastic holders, because they are sturdier and hold up better than those of cardboard or fiberboard. IKEA used to keep in stock a white plastic holder with open sides except for the 2" edging running around the perimeter of the side to lend strength and rigidity. These worked out ideally, though there was a tendency for the bottom edges of magazine issues to catch on the lower plastic edging. I must have bought at least 60-80 of them (I have a large collection of science and horticulture periodicals), then IKEA in its infinite wisdom decided to discontinue this very useful and serviceable model and go over to flimsier cheapies of cardboard that are next to useless for my purposes. For lack of anything better at the present time, the Rubbermaid model offered by Amazon, despite its drawbacks, seems to be the best of a less than ideal lot.

This well-constructed holder looks like it can fit a dozen magazines. There is a thumb-size square hole on the front near the bottom, so if you had them on a bookshelf you could pull one out easily. Front to back there's about an inch of space between a standard-sized magazine and the holder to make room for the thumb-hole grab. The side square hole design has some give (can bend inward some) and not sharp-edged, making it easy to grab and tote around. Though it's not overly rigid, it is not flimsy construction, just good quality plastic. No problems removing the label. We use it for our bathroom readings: all our magazines, junk catalogues, a paperback, fit tidy on the bathroom window sill. Steamy showers don't affect the plastic holder, though it does cause things to slouch inside. Better than leaving our reading materials loose on top the toilet tank or trying to install a holder on the wall. It'd be nice to have a different colors.
