Have you ever thought how much power can an answering machine have over you? Have you ever wondered about the confessions of a vibrator? Do you relish the power of the motorbike between your legs as you dominate the road ahead? And how many parts of you can be replaced by metal before you are more machine than human?
This collection of short stories had me goggling my eyes at the absurdity of what I just read, and at the exact same time nodding in embarrassed surrender that it made perfect sense. Its most extended story, that of Pell and Arc, includes some of the most hot F-F action I have ever come across. By the time I finished, I was looking around my room, wondering about the erotic parameters of my iPhone, my lamp, my fire alarm and my hard drives (whose name is a pun in itself). What would they say, if they had a voice?
I am not a technology erotica lover. Yet even I was taken for a ride in this astonishing book. The writing was impeccable, despite some minute editing errors, each story had its own little taste. Unique taste.
I am stunned.
