1) Easy to put on and get off - lifesaver when we need to get out the door!
2) Actually fits super well!
3) Keeps him warm - he used to shiver when it got below 20 degrees F, but now he's happy to run about in his coat no matter the temperature
I plan on purchasing more Ruffwear products in the future and have already recommended this coat to other dog moms I know. YAY RUFFWEAR!
PS. Henry is a Hound/Catahoula Mix and weighs in at 60 pounds. He wears a medium in this coat.
You can place it under some harnesses, and it might work OK, but probably not with the XS or XXS sizes. I have the Ruffwear Web Master harness, so when I place that over this jacket, the shoulders of the jacket restrict movement a bit too much. Also, the zipper might press against the animal's neck depending on the placement.
My harness has a rear loop for attaching a leash, so I just use that. It works ok, but sometimes the back of the jacket will lift up a bit due to the leash.
Edit: We created a hole where the label was, stitched in some nylon backing, and sewed a button hole so that the harness tab could be fed through. This works a lot better. Had to stitch the label back on, but it works for some reinforcement. Also holds the jacket in place.
Size Small was too big for him so I'm going to order a XS.
This is such a nice product! You can't really tell but around the belly area and on either side, there are snaps that securely hold the coat in place. There is also a zipper in the neck area to help get puppy's head in and out without fuss. This is definitely worth the money especially if you live in a cold climate!
BTW, this thing is HOT. I can feel the heat in it after I take it off my short haired dog.
Like another reviewer said, it is kind of more like a puffy blanket/wrap/vest than an actual jacket, but that is actually what we were looking for since it is layered over the cloud chaser jacket.
