"That's BOSS Angelica to You!"
I am a big fan of the classic episodes of "Rugrats" (seasons 1-4). I watched them a lot as a kid while syndicated on Nickelodeon or Nicktoons Network, and a year ago when I began collecting VHS tapes, I went after Rugrats one (y'know, the ones in the iconic bright-orange cassette) and added this one.Originally this VHS was released by Sony Wonder in 1994, and featured three episodes - "Angelica the Magnificent", "Seven Voyages of Cynthia", and "Runaway Angelica" (all appearing in chronological order, which is nice). Through the middle of the cartoons, there are a couple of Nickelodeon video puzzle games that were even tricky for me to figure out at first. :P In 1996, when Paramount acquired home video distribution rights for Nickelodeon shows, it was re-issued with the bonus episode "Angelica's Worst Nightmare", and this is the version I own. While I won't spoil the story for those who haven't seen the episodes, they are all 4 episodes centered around the big, bad bully of the cast, three-year-old Angelica Pickles! My personal favorite episodes in this are probably tied between 'Seven Voyages of Cynthia' and 'Runaway Angelica', although both are a bit sad in terms of the story.Although a hard VHS tape to find out in the wild these days (especially in thrift stores), Angelica the Divine is highly worth owning if you are a collector of Rugrats, Nickelodeon, or VHS tapes of cartoons in general. The photo attached is my personal VHS copy, printed in 1996 (PAR 650).
