Jas P reviewed Ruined Memories (THE RIM CONFEDERACY Book 7)
Rudnick is a genius and the RIM Confederacy series should not be missed! December 27, 2016
This time around Captain Tanner and his crew are tasked with investigating a refugee ship. I think I say this a lot with these books, that each book is like an episode of a show, one of the really great Sci-Fi shows like Star Trek, with Tanner Scott being Kirk or Pickard or similar. Each episode sees the Captain and the crew having to investigate something new, or being thrust into some kind of new danger or disaster, and only they can really stop it. And it isn't like there are no other people available, it just happens that through a series of events, luck, timing, scheming on the parts of various people etc, that puts the Captain and her crew in the thick of it. And Tanner is the right person for the role. But as with life, Tanner is not perfect, he can't do it all on his own, he has an able crew that helps him achieve these amazing things, from Bram, his psychic lieutenant, Kondo, his very clever and capable XO, the Lady St August and the Baroness, who whilst being the schemers at times, are also the ones who come to his aid quite often as well. There are numerous other crew that are also involved, as well as the Admiral who has his back due to their time together.
This series is not only being written now, but has a real deep history that Rudnick draws on for some great storylines. There is also an amazing universe he has developed for the characters to play in.
With the crew trying to help these Refugees, they discover something sinister, they are running, scared, and something hostile is coming. Tanner must use all his experience to protect the RIM this time around.
This is another brilliant, well written and exciting chapter in this amazing series, and is just so worth reading. This series just keeps getting better and better. Rudnick is a genius and the RIM Confederacy series should not be missed!
