This series just keeps getting better and better! The book is very enjoyable
Love how the title is worked in throughout the book. Breaking the rules or are you rule breakers?
I was happy to see Carmen, Katie and Bogart from Do Not Disturb and Oliver, Hank and the rest of the boys from Escape Clause to mesh together into this wonderful third book entitled Rule Breakers.
Hank was a character we met from the last book and I really liked him so I was happy he was getting his own story. He is a gentle giant, a big guy who is super nice. He rarely get mad and helps out anyone who needs it. He is also loyal to his friends and loved ones. You know....the perfect guy! I love his interactions with his friends..really anytime but especially when Hank was getting advice from his friends via Skype. Ha ha! They were all squishing their faces on the screen at once. So cute!
Carmen we met in the first book and she showed how strong she was while helping Katie. She keeps busy with her family, school and her job as a valet. She is smart but I think trouble sometimes seeks her out or she just falls into its lap. Her friendship with Katie has gotten better.
I really love when books mesh like this. I think it keeps the readers attention plus gives us more characters to love over and over. I would recommend reading the other two book before this one. I don't feel they need to be read in order but just read. I tell you it will enhance your reading experience of this book. I also love the Mark Twain quote at the beginning of the book….very fitting.
The downside to being a pale Irishman was that when I was embarrassed, it revealed itself like a freshly boiled lobster, only nowhere near as enticing or desired.
I could have been covered in chocolate syrup and had hundred-dollar bills stuck all over me, and she still wouldn’t have been interested in me. A modern version of being tarred and feathered, and it wouldn’t even make her look twice in my direction. Epic fail.
His fingers were long, bony, and white. It was like watching the Grim Reaper play Itsy Bitsy Spider.
Thanks, but it’s not karma. It’s Catholic guilt, which I think is worse. Catholic guilt is the gift that keeps on giving and one that you can never seem to return.
…the employee of the month plaques and their pictures hung in the back Housekeeping hallway, because nothing said job well done like a police-quality mug shot buried in the basement.
I couldn’t charm a man even if I were covered in pizza slices and wore nothing but a widescreen TV that played nothing but all sports all the time.
And when I met you, you were an unexpected surprise. I knew you’d be amazing, but I didn’t know that your soul would touch mine.
Rule Breakers had a little bit of everything and something for everyone to enjoy; interesting and diverse characters, amusing humor, mystery, a sweet and sensual romance, computer hacking, and endearing protagonists. Mary Billiter is a new find for me, but I am going to rectify my inattention to her work as I enjoyed her humor and style. She lost me a few times with the computer coding and geek speak, but I snapped to when the couple went from hacking to smacking lips and then on to sizzle and snap, right in the computer lab. I adored the gentle giant of Hank the Tank and look forward to reading more of Ms. Billiter’s resort based series.

The story Rule Breakers (Resort Romance Book 3) by Mary Billiter is a wonderful romance book. I was excited when I learned of the third story in the Resort Romance series. I loved the first two and this book is a wonderful addition. It tells the story of Carmen Gonzalez and Hank Hughes. I love both of these characters. Carmen is a valet at the Waterfront Point hotel. She also is going to school where she studies computer science. She already knows a lot about computers and their software and as is told in this story is always learning more. She is smart and when she is confronted with a problem or mystery to be solved works hard to come up with the answers. Hank Hughes is dealing with a family situation when he meets Carmen. These two soon find they have an attraction to each other and their chemistry is red hot. Carmen is someone that sometimes acts first and thinks later. While these two have found that their feelings for each other are strong, will her breaking of the rules cause their relationship to break apart? I enjoyed reading how these two interact. Hank’s protective side comes out when he is with Carmen and when he sees her mistreated by others comes to her defense. Their feelings for each other have developed quickly and sometimes this causes doubts. Even though there are issues that arise between them, I always wanted these two to find a way to stay together. I loved how the other characters helped both Carmen and Hank with the situation that they are investigating and also with advice on their relationship. These two are so fortunate to have friends that care about them. This is an author who writes stories and creates characters that you won’t soon forget. While this story can be read as a standalone I highly suggest also reading the first two books as well. The story of Carmen and Hank does include steamy romance. It would be recommended for mature readers.
