I read some reviews that said the book is very predictable, but I think that implies negative connotations about the story. As a reader, you know what you’re getting into when you start a book in this genre (the typical fake-relationship becomes something more story) so I suppose from that point of view the book is predictable, but my personal opinion was that the book did not disappoint by its predictability. I loved the characters and their budding romance, I finished the book in under 24 hours because I got swept up in the romance and didn’t want to put it down. For me it was a simple and cute escape.
The book provided chapters from both Meg and Luke’s perspectives which I really liked, especially because the author constructed the story in a way that each character had an opinion about the other, which was not necessarily the truth. Which made the story quite realistic because we all develop opinions and judgements about other people that may not be entirely true. It wasn’t until the characters started getting to know each other more that they each realised that their first impressions weren’t accurate. Of course the book has a happy ending, and leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quick, easy read full of cute romance.

When a book starts out with two characters who don't really know each other but already hate the other, while at the same time admitting to sparks and extreme attraction at every glance, well, you just know it's gonna be a winner...*eye roll*.
Typical cliche teen story, with snarkiness that isn't really funny, just annoying. Overall, it felt too angsty, and I didn't really sympathize with the way either character went about resolving issues. In the end, despite each character having real problems, it just didn't feel resolved with their relationship - seemed more of a lust thing than love thing, which is annoying if you're going to claim it's love.

Rules are meant to be broken. But there’s such a thing as taking things too far. A line Meg Matthews has just crossed when she runs into Luke Prescott, a boy who has every advantage and wants for nothing, or so she thinks. Luke, having caught Meg red-handed, strikes a deal to his advantage in order to convince his ex that they won’t be getting back together.
But as time goes by, the list of rules grows and changes. Neither Meg nor Luke is who the other thought they were, and their fake relationship is turning disturbingly real. When it’s threatened, will the rules make or break them?
Find out today! Read Rules of Persuasion. You won’t regret it.

I liked the idea of the book but was disappointed that it wasn’t as clean for my “12 year old” to read, as that is the suggested starting age for this book. Some language, some sexual situations and underage drinking.

The story is nice and clean. I like the stories about fake partners turning real. And the problems highlighted are real and relatable too.

I was bored with the plot, and the characters lacked depth. I couldn't get myself to finish the book.

I think the story was very cute. It is refreshing to know that human decency will always prevail towards the end.

Liked the characters and the plot flowed nicely even if it was predictable. Still left me with a smile in the end.

Teen romances may be riddled with cliches, but the trick is how you use them. This one is funny, sweet, heartbreaking, but ultimately lovely. A real curl up and read in one go type of book. Get it on your list now to help while away those dull evenings. Recommended read.

Nice read

Really enjoyed this book. It was a nice easy read. I loved Meg and her feisty character. The book was well written, it had humour, sadness and of course the budding romance between Meg and Luke. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
