PROS: It does expand and contract as advertised and is very light weight and easy to handle even in sub zero weather.
CONS: Very low flow, I'd estimate the water flow is aprox 1/4th the flow through a standard garden hose. It takes well over 2 minutes to fill a 6 gallon bucket with the spigot wide open.
Poor connectors. The female hose connector is just barely within specs for a garden hose fitting and will only screw on to some garden hose connectors.
Poor valve design. The on off valve at the male end of the hose works but is very small and difficult to open/close without spraying yourself with water.
We've used this now for about 6 weeks and if it continues to hold up I might improve my rating to "It's OK" as it does make it easier to fill up our troughs in the winter than a standard garden hose - but it could be a much better product.
updated- made it through the winter and still worked OK, improved my rating to 3 stars.
I upgraded and bought 2 heavy duty hoses, which cost $80.00 with shipping. Loved it....but after 5-6 uses, one of the hoses exploded. The company was unwilling to help in anyway, other than replace it for $69.99!!!
They have a 60 day return policy, and I had purchased the hose in Dec, but never used it until spring, so I was out of luck with the warranty.
Great idea, HORRIBLE design!
I purchased the hoses in early March when it was still wintertime, so I didn't have a need to try them until late April when it warmed up. I called customer service about getting a refund and was told that I could not return the hoses since I was outside the 30-day return period. Doesn't matter that it's a faulty product. So I'm out $56 bucks. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. You'll just be throwing your money away.
Here is the catch. The inside diameter of the hose is only 1/2 inch. That means the flowrate through the hose will only be a little more than half of what you would get through the same length of 5/8-inch hose and only about 1/3 of what you would get through 3/4-inch hose. That is OK if you are washing a car or watering pots or individual garden plants. However, it is near useless for watering lawns or hosing off decks or patios.
Also, 2 days after the hose arrived I saw it in Walgreens for $19.99. That is about $10 less than I paid with shipping through Amazon.

This hose SUCKS. I bought 2 and both burst. I would not recommend this at all. I rated it a 1 star because it wouldn't allow me to not put one. ZERO stars is my vote.Published 1 month ago by Cheryl
Don't buy this product. It didn't fit my hose and spent weeks fighting with them to replace. Ended up having to contact Amazon for a refund. It comes from China and is poorly made.Published 2 months ago by Jim Price
Seems great at first. Broke within about 3 months and after only 7 or 8 uses. Would not recommend.Published 6 months ago by Stuart
