Lily Harlem is a new-to-me author, with an easy-to-read writing style which had a shift pacing. I enjoy novellas, because I don't necessarily have a lot of time on my hands to sit down and read a day's worth of hours to fit in an entire story. I appreciate what a novella is and don't judge it against what it isn't.
Run Away with Me was a quick read, taking me a little over an hour. The blurb truly does sum up the total of the story. Jude is leaving work and meets a strange man, and runs away with him, with the naivety and lack of self-preservation of a person taking candy from a stranger in a van.
To be honest, even at the pacing a novella must be due to length, Run Away with Me was probably one of the most instantaneous books I've ever read. Instant attraction. Instant trust. Instant sex. Instant connection. Jude instantly leaving everything behind in the blink of an eye. No background. I didn't know anything about the narrator with the exception of what was happening in the now, and it was all on the surface, showing/telling nothing beneath.
While entertaining if belief was suspended, if I took more than a minute to think about what was on the pages, doubt crept in. I recommend reading at a rapid pace, taking the book at face-value, and not expecting it to be anything than as advertised. A quick novella, featuring MM situations, shifters devoid of paranormal world-building, without much substance.
I'll say this is all on me, reading a book that isn't my cup of tea. I won't judge a novella against longer books, or those not in its genre. I also won't rate a book based on the fact that I hoped it would have more depth. Even listed as erotica, I did expect a plot. Run Away with Me used its plot as a vehicle to drive straight into sex, and that's not the type of reader I am. If you are, no doubt you'll enjoy this quick, sexy escape.
Neo is a wolf shifter and he notices Jude immediately. He instantly knows this is his life mate and asks him to go for a ride with him on a motorcycle. He is excited when Jude takes him up on his offer.
I love Lily Harlem and her writing style. She writes shifters that are very believable and I liked both Jude and Neo. Unfortunately, we don't get much background information that I was craving. We know that Jude was dumped by an ex and it left him vulnerable and rethinking relationships, and we are told that Neo has been travelling for long periods at a time in hopes of finding his mate. I really wanted more. More about Neo with his pack family and definitely more about Jude. Knowing that this is book one in the Redwood Shifter series, I am hopeful we learn more about both of them!
What we are treated to is an adventure of a lifetime with all sorts of shocking turns, twists, and some rather spicy sex thrown in! It's a rather quick read, and we get some insta-love from both men. Jude isn't phased by Neo being a shifter. He accepts him as he is, and knows in his heart he made the right choice to take a motorcycle ride!

This book was gifted to me by the Jeep Diva for a voluntary review. The review and ratings are solely my opinions.
If you're looking for a long substance- filled book then Run Away With Me was not the book for you. But, if you're looking for a very quick read with much sex from two very willing men, then this is for you.
Jude was very trusting and a tad bit naive as he immediately ran with Neo and spoke words of love within hours of their encounter. Not much was divulged about each man, but I got the impression Neo was bad boy extraordinaire and my hope is to discover more of him in subsequent books.
A few editing errors which caused me to reread a passage or two a few times but a short morsel none the less.
