What if you were a teen and adopted by 3 witches? These witches practice black magic. They use you and abuse you any way they can, just so you can do what they want. Would you run away? Would you run fast and as far as you can?
Tilly is that girl! Bright, smart and full of life, away from her "family", the witches. She knows she is different then the average girl. She hates what they make her do, so running away was the best thing to do. Or was it?
After falling in the woods, a beautiful jet black. black as night without a moon, wolf came to her. The wolf didn't harm her, but had her get onto his back and ride to a group of campers to help her. As she held on the soft fur, she got the feeling that this wolf belongs to her. Then she passes out.
Waking in the camp deep in the woods, Tilly found herself being cared for by some very nice people. She hasn't been around people that much, thanks to the witches. Tilly thought that this was one big family. When it came time to pack up and go to their home, they asked her to go too. Thinking she would be safe and hidden away from the witches, she went with them. And so the story goes on from here and boy is it good!
There is Love. There is Betrayal. There are many surprises. There is Hate. There is fear. And there is Old Fashion Tradition. All emotions are covered in one fantastic storyline. You are held captive to the pages as you turn each one. Awesome!
I love rooting for the under dog. Those kind of books suck me in and I couldn't put this one down. I read it in one day. It was fascinating to watch the romance between Tilly and Spencer grow even though they keep trying to push the other away. And things only get more complicated when the past comes out to play, but Spencer never abandons her. He is always there for her. It's sweet considering how distant he is to everyone else. He's a very complicated character. Tilly, however, is a rather naive girl since she was guarded and put under lock and key for years. So having boys all over her like that is something new that she must sort out for herself. Her feelings are confusing and I could see where they would be for someone who's never even had a boyfriend before. This is a must read!!!
5 out of 5 stars!!!
