Ever since the trouble Thingy causes and the messes made have annoyed the Top of the Wardrobe gang, the neighbors and more. So when Santa sends notice of a recall and then an Elf shows up at the door with a replacement you would think the gang would be happy.
Instead they realize how important Thingy is to them. While Odd sock and Thingy are on the run the rest work on a way to get them back home, keep them safe and off of Santa’s radar.
The story is a fun unexpected tale of an imperfect family, but a family still. It will be enjoyed by kids and adults with the rhymes being read over and over. Is Santa the bad guy who wants to break up their group? Guess you will have to read to find out.
The illustrations are bright and colorful. Readers will enjoy them, along with searching for the purple sock with white polka dots, on every page. The activities in the back of the book will also give readers extended fun and learning.

The author, Melinda Kinsman, has written such a fun story about The Top Of The Wardrobe Gang. These are a collection of fine stuffies and toys who lived in their favorite house with Billy the boy, and their home was on top of the wardrobe. Last Christmas, Thingy was delivered by Santa. Thingy was a pain in the neck, he got into all sorts of trouble, made messes, fiddled with the alarm clock so that Billy was late, jumped in the mud and was a general distraction and annoyance for all. They sent him away to Billy's aunt to be straightened out, but they realized they missed him, and they called him home. Along towards Christmas, they received a note from Santa himself, he said he heard that Thingy was so bad that Santa was going to take him and replace him. Oh, no, thought the Wardrobe Gang, we don't want him to leave. They decided to go see Santa and plead for Thingy to remain. When you read this book you will discover what occurs.
Parents/teachers will so enjoy reading this book to their children. The children already follow the Wardrobe Gang series, and love to hear of their exploits. But, this sounds serious, the children will be able to discuss what they might do to save Thingy. The illustrations by the author, Melinda Kngsman, are bright and colorful. They depict the adventures of the Wardrobe Gang in all their glory. The Wadrobe Gang series is one of my favorites to read to my granddaughter. It is very original and includes lessons to be learned. Note: a complimentary copy of this book as provided to read and review.

The story is about Thingy. He is a very cute toy that doesn't know how to behave. He does naughty little things. They try to teach him to be nice but that doesn't work. He likes to hide things and play tricks on people. He even bit the mail man! Soon Santa hears about all this and issues a toy recall on Thingy. Now it seems everyone would miss Thingy if he was suddenly gone. Several go to Santa and try to convince him not to take the toy away. Luckily Santa has a change of heart. I am happy this story does have a happy ending. But we still wonder whether or not Thingy learned his lesson. I guess they all just learned to live with him.
This is a book my niece loves to read over and over again. It is fun and creative. Something different and new for the Holidays. It is a favorite for her right now.
