I recently read this story for my students. They LOVED it! They joined in whenever the page said "Run, Turkey, Run!". They have asked me to read it again and again. I will make this a keeper for my class and read it every Thanksgiving! It's a simple and fun story.

This is one of those fun stories that have a line that repeats throughout. Little ones love being able to chime in at the appropriate time. I was looking for something my daughter could use with her preschool class of 3-year-olds. I enjoyed this book so much I had to get one for me, too, to read to my grandkids.
It is the day before Thanksgiving and Farmer is in hot pursuit of Turkey, with burlap bag in hand. Turkey tries to blend in with his farmyard friends, and this gets pretty funny, but ultimately Turkey just has to run!
What does Farmer's family end up having for their Thanksgiving dinner? And what happens when they go looking for a Christmas tree after Thanksgiving?
This book will entertain and generate discussion. The illustrations are colorful, fun and full-page. The words are minimal. I recommend this as a book to be read to preschool children, or one that early readers could read with a little help on the few big words.

Great book for Thanksgiving time. Kids think it is funny and if I can make 25 first graders laugh and entertained then it is a keeper for sure! It is about a turkey who doesn't want to Thanksgiving dinner and can you blame him?!? It's not too long of a story either.

This is a great book for pre-K kids. My two toddlers love it. My three year old LOVES to yell "RUN TURKEY, RUN!" with me every time it comes up in the book, and it's not too long either, which makes it a nice read for parents. A great Thanksgiving children's book.

I read this story to my pre-kindergarten classes (four-year-olds) and they loved it. They got into the story, repeating "Run turkey run!" as it appears often in the story. It is also a good story for retelling, because the turkey tries to hide in several places before finally eluding the farmer. My classes really enjoyed this story, and it can be a quick five minute read aloud, or turned into a 20 minute activity with discussion, predicting, retelling, etc. Definitely worth the cheap cover price!

My son loves this book! He has already asked several times for my husband and I to read it over and over again! It's a simple and fun story with a repetitive pattern that will get your kiddos shouting along, "Run, Turkey, Run!" The story is about a Turkey that knows that Thanksgiving is coming and that he will be the main course. Turkey runs around the farm yard looking for places to hide from the farmer who wants to serve him up for a Thanksgiving feast. It is definitely a fun read for Thanksgiving!

My preschool kiddos loved this book and its surprise ending! Great for targeting WHAT, WHERE and WHY questions, animal associations and pictures shown emotions in a humorous manner. Glad I bought it!

Thanksgiving creeps up on us so quickly and it is such a good family holiday. I bought this book for when the younger ones are here at my home during that holiday. It was fun to watch grandpa reading to the little ones and they all wanted to hear it again and again.
