It's really great to have the basics at one's fingertips––WITHOUT the constant barrage of Advertisements! While I love researching on the Web, it becomes exhausting after awhile. My eyes get "screen fatigue." And that's when I'll reach for this Cyclopedia. There are still some advantages to the printed page: simple, clean, to-the-point, and easier on the eyes.

Too bad these little books aren't continuing in print. Many publishers have abandoned printed books entirely, which is understandable for content that is rapidly evolving. However, most of the Cyclopedia's content could easily be updated (in print) every few years.

When you want an interesting, informative encyclopedia at your fingertips, this is the perfect choice! Whether you need to search information on a certain topic, or simply wish to learn about one for different reasons, this cyclopedia offers valuable information. It includes: 20,000 facts; 800 illustrations; Glossaries of key words; biographies of historical figures; and major events.

In addition, it's easy to read, covers tons of subjects, and is concise. It's also easy to understand. A great learning tool that's extremely useful for teachers, and students. Highly recommended!

I've had the cyclopedia since the 1990s and have found it an invaluable resource in the past few years when peaking my children's interest in various subjects in science, math, astronomy etc. The entries are relatively short, so the time investment in covering a subject is modest which is perfect for a discussion with a 12 year old. I've used it to go back and brush up on what I know - or learn something for the first time - and make connections between subjects. In an internet age, this little book still has great value as I'm likely to maintain focus better than I might otherwise ;)
