I was given this book as an ARC, in return for an honest review! And oh how thankful I am! Scarlett & Gavin became a part of my life. I felt loss & sadness when I finished! Even though Scarlett & Gavin exited my daily life, they'll always be in my heart!
Cover=gorgeous!! I'll buy a copy just to have the cover to look at! This is a fun, romantic comedy that anyone can relate to (or at least their alter egos can). Jami's creativity is fantastic. I laughed out loud often and was excited by the sex appeal and chemistry between Scarlett and Gavin; which was electrifying. I also love that it was set in Texas.
This book was so worth the read! This would make a fantastic Lifetime movie! I cannot wait for the next book in the series to come out. I know it will be as good as Running From A Rock Star! I can't recommend this book more! Invite Scarlett & Gavin into your life, today! It's a must buy!
I love stories that start off as one thing and completely surprise. This story had way more depth and emotion than I anticipated. You feel everything these two have been through in their past and you feel how they connect on so many levels. You can almost pinpoint when they start to fall in love with each other.
"She owned him, body and soul. She freed the brokenness in him. Baptized and resurrected him with her sweetness, and made him a new man."
I also loved the side characters. You know the writing is amazing when you become emotionally connected to characters that aren't the main H and h.
And can I just say how much fun it would be to get Jack and Louann's story! That will be explosive!
They both have a broken past life and some secrets. Saying that, I loved their faults and mistakes. Their willingness to own up to them, to apologize and try to fix things makes the two protagonists even more endearing.
For the readers who may need a warning: there is some profanity, mention of drugs, alcohol and (wrongly assumed) prostitution. There are some sexy scenes, however they are more romantic than smutty. Also, the protagonists are adults and married to each other.
I can't wait to read the next book about Luanne and Jack, since their chemistry and endless "fighting" is one of the highlights of this book. I have to read about their own happily ever after!
