Running Wilde by Jenn Stark is smorgasbord of magical delights. Sara is learning up close and personal that with power comes great responsibility. Experiencing new levels of her power will push Sara's threshold of pain, landing her into the arms of one of the most powerful members of the Arcana Council. The Magician is back in all his bronze glory and Miss Wilde is his playground! No longer is reading the cards for answers enough. Sara will have to decide how she will sacrifice herself for those who she loves. Stark nails another fantastic story and I'm certifiably addicted.

The book picks up a few months after Sara went on the run from Interpol and the many other agencies who are out to find her. The Devil catches up to her and offers her a job retrieving long lost scrolls that were originally held in the Library of Atlantis. Finding the scrolls opens up a giant can of worms and the story just takes off from there. I really liked that Simon, the Fool, had a big role in the book so we got to learn more about him. Nikki is awesome as always and I am excited for what I see as a possible development for Brody. I like that Sara becomes a stronger person who is more comfortable with her abilities with each book. Lastly, I'll be waiting with bated breath for the next book to follow Sara's story and the progression of her relationship (working and romantic) with the Magician.

PS. I received an ARC of this story for an unbiased review--which was awesome since it's a series that I love. :)

I love this series. There are times when I get mad at the characters because of things they aren’t doing, it I love the fact that they are evolving in each installment. This one finally rounds the corner and we are given a glimpse of what Sara should be, should have been, could be, but more importantly an explanation as to why she isn’t those things/people. I’m starting to see the threads hidden in earlier books tie themselves off to create an amazing tapestry telling one heck of a tale.
Read them all, read them in order, and let yourself what if.

As with all her books in this series it takes a couple chapters to get going. But once it does you are racing to the next page to see what happens. And oh boy does a lot happen. Talk about seeing doubles or missing half of yourself. Do I recommend? Yes. Will I re-read? Maybe. I am def looking forward to the next book of course. Too many things are going down.

This is a good book, well written. I am, however, not quite satisfied hence the four stars. I love Sara Wilde but this arc is dragging on too long for me. Nine books and no resolution is a bit much. Sara is too good a character to drag around by her heels into minutiae that should be lightly passed over. She appears constantly at a loss, befuddled, unsure, then suddenly she is sharp and understands and sees the truth.........I don’t think it can be both ways and palatable to the reader, not to this degree. I hope that the author finally allows Sara to be the heroine hinted at and allows her to end this arc and start another.

Sara is on the run, jumping continents and keeping ahead of Interpol. The war on magic is looming large, and several scenarios on the outcome are revealed to her. With the veil growing thinner, the old gods are destined to return to destroy humanity. Sara has weapons of immense power that she was sent to find, and an epic betrayal reveals itself. Tremendous action, great story, did not see that coming betrayal, got some Nikki (I love Nikki), new magic!!! Now, this is the first book in this series that I had a *meh* it won't be a 5 for me. Mild *spoiler*, I could have done without the "gaming" even though it tied in the storyline.

I pounced on this as soon as it was delivered and inhaled it. I am LOVING the growth and depth of the characters, and can happily say that each book surpasses the others.

So much of what I want to write here falls into the category of spoilers, so I will just say: buy it. If you’ve loved this series from the start, you won’t regret it.

Loved this book and the whole concept of this series and how it uses tarot cards. As we move closer to the end I enjoy seeing how relationships keep evolving and all of the new changes and challenges each book. This one was my favorite so far and I cannot wait to see how her and the Magician get closer and see what happens next. If you have not read this series then you are missing out on a wonderful story.
