The other thing that made this book a win for me was how completely fleshed out the settings and the secondary characters were. Both added so much to the overall story. I loved Aspen's friends, I wanted to hang out with them, go to lunch with them, party with them. It's so refreshing to read a book that portrays positive female friendships. LOVED THAT. Finns friends are funny and left me wanting more. Plus, I seriously want to visit San Fransisco. The way the city is described, the attention to detail, the cultural and landmarks, all add to and already charming book.
I would say that I will definitely read book two....but I ALREADY DID. :-)
I felt like she was written as a dumb blonde. Pulled me out of the story ever time she'd think something along those lines. And it made me wonder what the author thought about the education and classes required for an MBA vs whatever the hero was taking at Stafford for three years.
I guess I'm saying the hero was more believable as a character than the heroine.
Plenty of moments where I raised an eyebrow and shook my head, though. However, I liked the story enough to finish it. Not sure if this is any kind of helpful as a review. Since the book was free, though, I feel I got what I paid for.
Aspen Adams just finished grad school and now she is ready for her new life. She moves to San Francisco into a very nice apartment her brother’s wife found for her. Aspen has certain rules she can not break or she might be living with her brother. She has a her five year plan in place and she is going to focus on her career. Aspen is sticking to her plan until she meets her hot neighbor Finn. She is instantly attracted to him but she doesn’t understand why. Finn is funny, charming, and hot. All the things she is looking for but it is too good to be true? Will Aspen find what she is looking for in this new city or will she run back home?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has is all romance, mystery, and some good drama. You will fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. Aspen is a beautiful woman and knows what she wants. She is focused on her job and she doesn’t want any drama. Finn is very handsome with a good heart. The way he treats Aspen will make your heart melt. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This talented author will keep you on your toes until the end. I can’t wait to meet the rest of these men.
In Rush, we meet Aspen, a quirky young woman fresh out of college. Aspen has just moved to San Francisco, where her brother lives and works as a police officer, and where she has just accepted a new job in marketing at a dog food company. Her brother's wife helped her to find a nice apartment at an affordable price, but that comes with a very strict landlord. We never actually meet the landlord but Aspen constantly mentions his long list of absurd rules. During her first week in her apartment building, Aspen runs into Finn.
Finn is a sweet, sexy, kind of nerdy, video game lover. He is staying in the penthouse, which happens to be her neighbor/landlord's apartment. Finn doesn't own the penthouse apartment though, he's just "sleeping on his friend's couch." Finn works on video games, creating the ideas and coding for mobile apps. Aspen and Finn hit it off right away. He's very sweet to her, but he also almost seems too perfect, like he's hiding something. When Finn invites Aspen to be his date at a charity gala, she accepts immediately, excited to see the finished work on Finn's new business building. But Aspen is met with a frosty reception from one of Finn's best friends and an unexpected run in from Finn's ex girlfriend. The next morning on her way to brunch with her friends, Aspen's world is rocked and her happiness seems to have slipped through her fingers.
This was a cute, quick, light read. The characters were sweet and likeable. There was minimal drama and the "problem" was pretty anticlimactic. There were a few editing/grammatical errors, and I always subtract a half star from the rating for that. But I enjoyed this story.
Finn was my favorite character of the two. He is a sweet, sexy, sort of nerdy, video game lover. He is not a typical “hero” type but is likable.

This is the first book in the Boys of RDA series and I can say that it's definitely off to a good start! I really enjoyed this book and found it to be very refreshing. The author has definitely created characters that we can relate to. The book was just a page turner I couldn't put it down.
I really like how the author creates the drama around Finn and Aspen. The way that they meet and get together is actually quite realistic. I found that even though there was a bit of up and down for Finn and Aspen it just adds to the book and keeps the reader's interest. I really look forward to reading more from this author and this series in the future.
I do have to say that at times I was a little disappointed with the writing style: it felt like there was something missing almost and I didn’t always connect with it.
However I did enjoy the overall story and I liked what the author did with it. The characters were likeable and easy to ease about. I could tell this was the start of a series and I am hopeful for what is to come out of it.
The geeky/nerdy Finn is not your typical leading man, but he’s very endearing in his vulnerability.
Aspen is the newcomer in town with the 5 year plan that goes out the window when she meets Finn. She’s had a troubled past but she’s finding her feet in San Fran.
