Editorial Reviews

The incredible journey of two actor/artists, Michael Chekhov and George Shdanoff, who escaped Revolutionary Russia and World War II to coach the legendary stars of Hollywood in their most memorable Academy Award-winning roles. Upon arriving in Hollywood both men helped to create and define a school of acting that offered an alternative to Stanislavsky and Strasberg's omnipresent 'Method.

Format: DVD
This is perhaps the only video document highlighting the life of the great genius actor, director and theatre pedagogue Michael Chekhov. How wonderful to be able to hear those who worked and studied with him, and also to know about his great colleague and collaborator George Shdanoff.

An absolutely uplifting and tremendously inspirational documentary for all students and practitioners of acting and theatre!
