Format: Paperback
The Men-at Arms series continues in this volume on the Russian Infantry during the Napoleonic Wars. This book, while it does not go into depth about the history of the conflict, does provide a visual resource that is invaluable for history buffs and professional television and film designers alike. The book uses more second hand sources than one might wish, but all the information is clear and concise.

Outstanding work, really one of the very best Osprey Men-At-Arms books available. The text is actually very interesting, and the color plates are among the best I've ever seen. I'm especially glad to see that in this volume, Osprey has stayed away from its usual practice of filling up loads of space on officers and special units. Rather, the focus is on the common soldier in the ranks and color plates take you nicely through the evolution of uniforms and equipment that took place during this span of time. One missing element are details about flags and fanions (smaller flags carried at the company and batallion level).

Did not know much about this army during this period covered. After reading I learned from this book the uniforms and formation of this army. Combat history is also discussed on a limited bases. Good book for anyone wanting to know about this army. Good drawing on uniforms is a plus.

18th & 19th century uniforms were ever-changing in Europe. This short, well illustrated guide is excellent for all interesteed persons that are not reasearching tiny details. Every detail of botton and sash is not covered, but a good overview is presented.
