On the slim chance that there are other fans of both opera and Georgian folk music out there, I'm pushing this blandly titled disc as an undiscovered gem. Georgian tenor Zurab Sotkilava does well enough with the Italian and Russian art songs and the operatic arias, but the reason I made this disc a priority to own is the suite "Mingrelian Songs" for tenor, male octet and chamber orchestra by Otar Taktakishvili. This 28-minute piece offers arrangements of Georgian folk songs and is pure delight from beginning to end. Members of the Rustavi Ensemble, whose Nonesuch album "Georgian Voices" is probably the first Georgian choral album American listeners will have encountered, assist on the suite. Another bonus is the touching Georgian lullaby "Sisatura." This disc may be hard to find but it's worth it.

The rest of the program:
Bizet, Flower Song (Carmen); Verdi, "Di quella pira" (Trovatore), "Niun mi tema" (Otello), Giordano, "Improvviso" (Andrea Chenier)
Tchaikovsky, "Nochi bezumnye" (Crazy nights), Pimpinella
Rachmaninov, "Son" (A Dream)
Mario, Santa Lucia luntana
Paisiello, La Molinara
