Rand works construction so when a house near his is occupied by a new owner it's news because the house should have been condemned. Natalie has inherited the home and it's rent-free so she's home. She knows it will take a lot to make it livable but she has no idea of the cost of remodeling a home. She thinks she can do it on tips.
Rand met Natalie when he was younger but never felt anything for her but now he can't live without her but he comes on too soon and she knows he doesn't love her. What woman wants to be in a state of lust instead of love, no one. She can't stay with him but he's okay for a while.
Natalie knows what Rand is but she doesn't get the wolf thing even though she wants to cuddle his wolf.
Fifteen years later Natalie sees Rand again only this time he knows she's his mate. The story is formulaic. They establish a relationship with the usual build up to a breakup and requisite catastrophe. The heat between characters is good. The series has been interesting but the authors have just about covered all the tropes in prior books. I enjoyed the story you might too.

Rand is everything I would expect from a wolf shifter in this series- fiercely protective, pushy and possessive (the famous 3 ps). He lays himself on the line to please her and is able to support and encourage her to make a life for herself on the ranch. Natalie is an adorable heroine. She is need of love but protective and wary of falling too fast. She has the added bonus of already knowing the secrets of Wolf Ranch which makes the developing romance fun to follow.
I loved this read and like the other books in the series it was compelling, hot and fun to read.
