The Ryobi 18-Volt brushless 7-1/4 in. circular saw provides longer runtime, more power and a longer motor life. The 7-1/4 in. blade provides a 26% increased cut capacity and blade variety. 0-56° bevel cut allows the user the ability to cut the most common and complex angles.

* I used primarily the 4.0Ah One+ batteries from Ryobi, which each lasted nearly a full day of work depending on cut frequency
* Most of my lumber was fairly wet pressure-treated wood, and while the saw occasionally felt the effects, it powered through.
* Not being a true framer's worm drive saw, it's refreshingly lightweight despite the huge battery.
I can't say enough about how pleasantly surprised I've been to find out about this saw and my experience using it so far.
A laser like on previous models would have been a plus. I took a black Sharpie marker and extended the line from the notch for the blade guide for a faster visual reference at 0 degrees.
Brushless motor made for a softer and a bit quieter start up. I would still wear hearing protection because the decibels are loud enought to warrant it.
After installing the Ryobi blade I noticed a 1/8 inch movement of the blade along the rotational axis. Nothing side to side (wobble). From what I can tell it is just a little slack before the point where the motor's shaft will not move. Is that a brushless motor soft start thing? When you are walking around the blade makes a "tink tink tink" sound, annoying, but not a returnable "feature." I didn't expect that noise as there is no play what-so-ever in the old Craftsman.
Time will tell if the plastic parts hold up. If anything fails I will update the review but I am sure by that time Ryobi will be three or more models ahead.
I have used this with the Ryobi high torque batteries and it completely transforms the saw. Everything I said in my original review is incorrect. This thing is amazing and cuts very well when you use it with the proper battery.
this is absolutely the worst Ryobi tool I have ever purchased, it won't even cut half inch plywood without stopping. The tool seems to have some sort of built-in overload protection that keeps stopping the blade. This is the first thing I've attempted to cut in the blade is brand new. Terrible.
It can't match the performance of a proper corded saw, but unless you're doing tons of rips this saw can probably do everything your corded one can.
