These are really nice monitors with speakers built in. I have a client who wanted as few cords as possible, so we only needed a power cord and a HDMI cable for everything here. Actually we used a separately purchased Displayport to HDMI cord and that also carried the sound to the screen.
This comes with the screen, power cord, and a HDMI cable. They have HDMI and VGA in, and there is sound in and out (but it also accepts sound through the HDMI port). There also is a S2316M that has VGA and DVI but it doesn't have speakers.
The downside is that the stand only has tilt. (it doesn't raise or lower like Dell ultrasharp monitors). Also there are no Vesa holes, so you can't mount it to monitor mount.
The speakers aren't amazing, but they're good enough. We're using them at 50% volume and they're working great.
As long as you don't mind a glossy screen, these are nice and bright with good colors. The speakers are good enough too. I'm really happy with these. The super thin bezel makes them seem very modern.
