These actually come in multiple colors. I got black with the green trim because I thought it looked the best. But for those with custom lighting on their PC's you might be able to get something to match.
The thing that bothers me bout this headset is that the wire is only wired to the left earpiece. Sure enough after 3 months, when I bend the volume controller wire to a certain angle, the right earpiece stops working until I have to slightly readjust the wire until the right side works again. Also, some computers do not come with a 2- jacks (one for microphone and one for the sound), so if you have a computer that lacks the mic jack. I suggest finding another headset.
To this day, I still use it for gaming and I am satisfied with what I got for a low price. I will be buying from Sades again in the future.
There is a volume control inline also a mic on/off switch.
This is not USB. It has 3.5mm plugs for mic and headset.
I tested the mic on voice recorder (windows) with just my voice and it was very clear. I also recorded with music playing on the headset, I could hear the music quietly, but my voice was still clear. I have an MSI Gaming 5 motherboard and I have options for noise cancelling. With this headset, noise cancelling made the sound worse so I turned it off. (hope that helps)
I basically got this headset until I get a HyperX Cloud. Just needed something for the meantime and I'm happy I chose this one.
Something else to note- when many headphones aren't being worn, the plastic kinda hardens and makes putting it on uncomfortable. I barely wear this except when I'm on Vent or Teamspeak or Skype or Raidcall or something, and the headset stays totally comfortable regardless of constant or neglectful use.
Edit: I've been ridiculous with this headset. I've gone on Skype calls and shown my friends that I don't even wear the headset- I keep it on a shelf under my computer desk. Even then, and even walking across my studio apartment, everyone can still hear me flawlessly. If someone else told me its microphone was as good as it actually is, I wouldn't believe them.
At some point a few months later, I noticed a problem when using the headset. In game voice chat, people would tell me that they were getting an echo, and eventually I isolated it to when I was using my headset microphone. At first people thought maybe I had stereo mix enabled in the Windows audio settings, but this wasn't it. I then did further debugging and isolated this issue to only occur when I had my headset microphone plugged in, unmuted, and my headset volume was somewhat high. I figured out that the headset audio was crosstalking into the microphone input either in the headset wired remote control or in the headset itself, but I haven't managed to fix the problem, even though I opened up the remote and didn't see any obvious damaged wires or miswiring.
The wiring inside the remote is a little cheesy, but nothing too bad. Good strain relief, but the flying leads are a little bit long and could stand to have a little more twisting for signal, if you want to get picky about quality. I might try to improve this and see if it helps if I feel ambitious, but I doubt it, and it would just be easier for me to pick up a Logitech headset and call it a day.
