Protection You Can Trust
If you've ever shopped around for stun guns, you have seen plenty of extremely high voltage claims - possibly up to 300 million volts. These astronomical figures sound impressive - but the truth is, when it comes to stun guns, voltage is not the correct indicator of stun gun strength. High voltage claims are not only wildly misleading, but also physically impossible. In fact, 30,000 is the maximum voltage that could jump across stun gun contacts spaced one centimeter apart. Any larger voltage claim violates the laws of physics (Source: Physics for Scientists and Engineers. New York: W.H. Freeman and Company, 1999).
SABRE takes pride in transparency and quality assurance. So we decided to get the facts on stun gun strength, and pass our knowledge on to you, the consumer, who may one day be in serious danger and in need of a product you can trust. So, it’s up to you to take charge of your safety and get the truth about the products you entrust with your life. With SABRE, you can come to a purchasing decision that provides you with the ideal stun gun to suit your lifestyle.
The Popular - And Dangerous - Stun Gun Myth
Myth: Voltage indicates stun gun strength.
Fact: What indicates strength is microCoulombs, which measures charge (current x time).
'Delivered charge' is the best indicator of the potential electro-stimulation. It is measured in microCoulombs. (Source: National Institute of Justice).
Reliable Claims for Peace of Mind
How strong are the stun guns on the market today? We got the facts with Rassettica.
SABRE takes safety and product development extremely seriously, so we teamed up with Rassettica Testing Limited, North America's leading independent conducted energy weapon (CEW) testing company.
Rassettica helped us uncover an unfortunate truth about the stun gun industry: Consumers have been misled – and with no government standards or regulations in the stun gun market, it is all too easy for companies to take advantage of this. The most important takeaways from our testing is the voltage does not indicate stun gun strength, and is commonly overstated, providing a false sense of security while propping up a dangerous myth.
Every SABRE stun gun model has been independently tested to accurately identify its correct strength. Don’t fall for false advertising claims. Choose a proven brand that has been tested by industry experts to maximize your safety!
Stun Gun Strength Test Results
The National Institute for Justice also reports that stun guns that emit 0.5 microCoulomb or more produce pain (when used on most sober, emotionally stable people). According to the National Institute for Justice, stun guns that emit 1 microCoulomb (uC) or more produce 'unbearable pain' (when used on most sober, emotionally stable people).
At SABRE we only make product that you can reliably count on in your moment of need.
With a 1.139 µC charge, this SABRE stun gun is extremely strong, producing ‘intolerable pain’ according to the National Institute of Justice. Empower yourself with extreme stopping power when you need it most.
You’ll also benefit from a built-in 80-lumen LED flashlight featuring high, low and strobe settings which may help you disorient from a distance, possibly allowing you to escape to safety before needing to use the stun feature. An intimidating 95 dB sound—loud as a subway train—attracts attention, alerting people nearby. For maximum accessibility, this stun gun features a belt clip and holster, and an outer shell designed for enhanced grip. NOW WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY!
You've seen plenty of extremely high voltage claims - possibly up to 100 million volts. These astronomical figures sound impressive, but in truth, when it comes to stun guns, these claims are wildly misleading AND physically impossible. Unfortunately, there’s no government regulation in the stun gun industry, leaving consumers vulnerable to products that aren’t as strong as they claim.
GET THE FACTS – WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE! Charge, measured in microCoulombs (µC), indicates stun gun strength according to the NIJ—not volts.

The pros are that the stun-feature is of course concealed, having the appearance of a tactical flashlight. The light is super-bright- enough to blind someone quite easily, and this also delivers a quite nasty shock with an element of surprise-- It might even be possible to get this through security checkpoints, etc. I carry this as a secondary weapon on my weak side in a cross draw position, and carry pepper spray on my strong side.
The cons are that the included belt holster is made from an inferior grade nylon that won't stand up to much- and would be quite prone to being snatched off your belt with relatively minimal force. I would recommend buying a tactical flashlight holster and throwing the factory-shipped belt holster out upon receipt. Another negative is that the switch to activate the stun feature is quite small and located on the tail cap- It would be difficult to activate in a defensive situation. Another disadvantage is that the button to activate the stun feature is on the side of the light, as opposed to being on the tail cap, and the stun button is quite easy to press. This means that it will be difficult to activate the stun feature while holding the flashlight with a tactical grip, and you can't carry it in your belt holster while it is armed (unless you want to take a risk of a nasty shock.) The worst feature about this device is that it has no anti-snatch technology, such as a removable pin, etc. Which means an assailant can potentially snatch this from you and use it on you-- which could be highly probable given the fact that the device can only be used in close-quarters hand-to-hand combat situations, unless you take advantage of being able to use it without warning to the would-be assailant.
Overall, I would only recommend this for someone with a good bit of defensive tactics and force continuum training.
Updated Review: Well within 2 days my replacement was here and I must say, it's really impressive. All functions and charger work great. The rubber button on both takes a lot of pressure to turn on, otherwise I'd give it 5 stars.
Still, good save.
