SainSmart TPU filament is featured by its high strength and flexibility, like a hybrid of plastic and rubber.
95A TPU has high abrasion resistance and low compression compared to rubber parts, especially at higher infill.
In comparison with most common filaments like PLA and ABS, TPU must be run much slower.

Recommended for printers with direct drive extruder, 0.4~0.8mm Nozzles.
With bowden extruder you might pay more attention to these tips:
- Print slow 15-30 mm/s Printing speed
- First layer settings. (Height 100% Width 150% speed 50% e.g.)
- Retraction disabled. This would reduce messy, stringing or oozing printing result.
- Increase Multiplier(Optional). set to 1.1 would help the filament bond well. - Cooling fan on after first layer.
If you are having problems printing with soft filaments, firstly, and most importantly, slow the print down, run at 20mm/s will work perfectly.
It is important when loading the filament to allow it to only just start extruding. Once you see the filament coming out the nozzle hit stop. The load feature pushes filament through quicker than a normal print and this can cause it to get caught in the extruder gear.
Also feed the filament direct to the extruder, not through the feeder tube. This reduces the drag on the filament which can cause the gear to slip on the filament. I

Old Review: It was so strongly adhered to the heatbed of the printer, that it peeled the PEI sheet off with it. This printer was brand new (Prusa MK2S), and is now unusable because the heatbed has been destroyed.
For background, the print was cellphone case, as seen in the attached pictures.
Unfortunately, I purchased 5 rolls of this for a big print job. There is cheaper TPU filament that I had zero issues with (Yoyi I believe).
The good: Prints very nicely when you get a roll that has a long enough portion where the diameter is consistent. I even got it to do some pretty decent bridging.
Diameter is all over the place. No consistency.
Spool was wound poorly, so when you get to the end, the TPU is very wrinkled. OK for a direct extruder, but death to a Bowden extruder.
Update: Sainsmart contacted me and offered to replace the bad rolls and give the filament another shot. I gave them my address, etc., but a month later and no filament ever showed up, so I'm keeping this review at 1 star. If the new filament ever shows up and it works out, I'll update this review.
Glass bed with PVA glue coating at 70C gave perfect adhesion.
First layer nozzle at 230, and then all other layers nozzle at 205C. (230C is the key to good bed adhesion, and 205C almost eliminates stringing)
Fan off first layer, 100% for subsequent layers.
Excellent layer adhesion.
25mm/s print speed with direct drive extruder. 20mm/s print speed with a Bowden extruder.
Sainsmart would have a good product if only they could get it to be a consistent diameter. This roll is definitely going back for a refund. The others I'm forced to use because I need them right now. I've already had several failures from the other rolls, but when you're in the middle of a big print job, you do what you have to do.
It has come to my understanding that sainsmart has corrected the color of this filament and has gone far beyond what was necessary to fix the problem for me. I highly recommend any product that sainsmart produces. I will continue to purchase their TPU and other specialty filaments.
Problem is this filament IS VERY FLEXIBLE. Too flexible if you ask me. Is so soft, that it bends and kinks too easy. The roll isnt even wound tightly. The filament has this wavy pattern to it, and as it goes thru the bowden PTFE tubing, those kinks act as brakes and creates too much resistance. Halfway thru the PTFE im unable to even feed it by hand with all the resistance the filament creates.
Simply put, there should be a very clear disclaimer that this filament its technically intended to be used on direct drive setups. I have tested a new ptfe tube, and various machines, and the resistance is so great because the filament kinks inside it. Havent been able to successfully print, and now i am sitting on a roll that cant use.
