However, the title implies that it will help you to get certified. It has very little useful detailed information and will not actually HELP you pass the MM certification exam. For MM Partner Academy, a course I conduct at SAP, it is particularly useless and I feel so sorry for people who spend the money on this book hoping it will help them pass the exam. The questions listed are not at the right level at all and the answers are often not only completely off the point, but in some cases completely wrong. This made the entire book's credibility questionable. You will notice if you read the above reviews that the most criticism comes from experienced SAP consultants who know enough to judge the content.
There is NO coverage of the level of detail actually required to pass the MM certification. In summary - if you want to pass the exam, it would be better if you read all the configuration and other modular help topics as well as completed either the partner academy training or did some real implementations.
I've read the book. I have SAP Basis certification. I have take the SAP certification courses. Don't buy the book: unless you are looking for a general 15-page introduction to each area of SAP. The sample questions presented inside contain very few, if any, similarities to the real tests.
People who buy this book are likely the ones who fall easily to such advertising by Pepsi, think Winblows 98 is a real operating system, and believe everything shown on CNN is purely without favor or flavor. I wouldn't want to hire such consultants.
I have been waiting for this book for a few months, but I was really happy with it when I finally got it. There was a great deal of content in this book that was very helpful to me. I reallly enjoyed how the author took the time to include questions and answers on every single SAP module!
I think the best part of this book is that it helps prepare you for SAP Certification. I know that ERP is the best field to get involved in, but finding out where all of the SAP courses are given is very hard. I was on the telephone with SAP for the better part of a day trying to determine where they offer courses, how much the courses cost, and what they all involve.
I also didn't know what course track was the best one for me. After examining this book, I found out how to pick the right module to get certified in. I was really happy that someone took the time to detail all of the ins and outs of the SAP Certification process.
I am really happy with this book and found it to be very very useful to me. If you are looking for a very detailed/heavy book that explains the entire SAP Certification process in detail this is it. I like this book, I recommend it, and think that if you are going to have anything to do with SAP then you should absolutely get it.
The CD by the way is probably the most pointless CD ever included in any technical book! A brain-dead collection of marketing information, a complete waste, containing not one practice question or answer to help in certification examination preparation!
It is my desire to aspire to be a SAP consultant as I have found this subject to be something I really like to do.
The ERP market has become so very competitive recently, that I think everyone needs a little help to succeed in this market. My goal is using this text was to prepare myself for the complex subject matter. I felt that even though I was only studying for the HR module, I needed some background information on all of the other SAP modules.
To make a long story short, when I went into class armed with some background on the other SAP modules-- my professor was very impressed with my knowledge. This was IN the SAP course itself. When I told the teacher I was using Miller's book to help me-- he was very impressed. The SAP professor told me specifically that he recommends Miller's Certification Guide to help students gain more information about SAP subject matter before taking the course. He was very impressed with my initiative and is now helping me cope with the rigors of the course.
All in all, this was a wonderful book and it really helped me out when I needed it most!
