The SF3 Power Flash arrives pre-loaded with DYNO proven tune files that increase horsepower and torque. Programming your vehicle with one of SCT's pre-loaded performance or fuel economy tune files is as easy as 1-2-3. Simply plug the OBDII connector into your vehicle's OBDII port, select the pre-loaded tune file using the simple to navigate menu and within minutes the SF3 programs your vehicle. The SF3 Power Flash device backs up your factory PCM program during installation should you ever need to return your vehicle to the stock PCM program. Restoring your vehicle to the stock PCM program is as easy as selecting return to stock from the device menu.

I bought this tuner in order to have the Engine Computer properly handle some of the modifications I have done to the engine. The SF3's canned tunes made quick work of the trouble I was having after upgrading the EGR cooler. No more glaring light on the dash!

I have only one complaint about the tuner as a whole, and that is that the USB connector is a bit chitsy. Excessive play can develop there, causing it to drop the link to your computer. The SF3 can download custom tunes from your PC via this link, and also lets you make a backup copy of your stock tune. If you only want custom tunes, you might consider the X3.

There are a few things you ought to know about the tuner, at least for the 6.0 application, that I have not seen elsewhere. If you are going to use the device to test for EGR troubles, you need to know that the EGR delete option is not a replacement for a delete kit. The valve will still cycle, albeit not very often (watch IAT and IAT2 on your scantool if you doubt me). If you want to completely stop EGR flow and do not have a delete kit installed, you are going to have to pull the plug on the valve while the engine is turned off. The tuner will prevent a the Check Engine Light from showing up should you delete the EGR for off-road competition. It is illegal to disable EGR for on-road use.

This tuner flashes both the engine and transmission (or transmission only, if you select that option). Most modern computers "learn" a strategy to fine-tune the day to day operation of the vehicle, and this is erased during a flash. As a result, your engine and transmission may act a little bit off kilter for a bit. Mine did. After 50 miles or so, it was running like a top- better than it ever did! Do not panic.

WARNING!!!!!!!!! I feel it is important that I post this review detailing a potentially unsafe and possibly deadly problem with the Performance Tune that is included with this tuner when installed on a 2011 Ford F250 Super Duty with a 6.7L Diesel. This problem also occurs on a friend's 2014 F250 SD with he same engine. THIS IS NOT a review of the seller. The seller performed as promised without issue.
After installing the Performance Tune in my 2011 Super Duty, the engine will shut down on hard acceleration. It does not matter the speed or RPM. This occurs, without fail, each time the truck is accelerated at WOT. On the 2014 SD, the engine will actually shut off requiring a restart. THIS IS POTENTIALLY A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION. I have worked with Kevin at SCT Tech Support and, while we have proved that the problem is with the tune, he nor SCT can provide a fix for this problem. Even after installing the most current tune pack, the problem still exists. Kevin was very helpful in troubleshooting up until the point that there was nothing left to try. At that point, he maintained the corporate position that I would need to go back to the seller to get a refund. The problem is that several weeks have passed while trying different things suggested by SCT and waiting for the latest tune updates. Keep in mind that every other tune including stock works without fail. It is the Performance Tune that is the problem. I have even offered to take my truck to SCT and have them drive it to see the problem. They have not responded. Most likely, they know about the problem but just don't know what to do about it.
If I were looking for a tuner for this specific vehicle I would suggest looking at anything besides the SCT. If you still want the SCT I will sell you a very slightly used one that will double as a brick.

I bought this for my 2007 Ford Fusion I4 2.3L and since the tune I've been extremely pleased. I loved all of the options available. The only reason I don't rate this five stars is because the tune files are not very clear to someone who has never used this before. That said, customer support was excellent and quickly helped me find the information I needed. The tune files are actually the octane selection which I suppose would be obvious to someone with experience doing this. That unfortunately is now me. I really like the data logging feature as well. All in all this has been a great investment.

i bought one of these, BEWARE, make sure when u get it when hooking to your truck when u go in to vehicle information it match your vin# I didn't check that I program my truck and it fried my pcm and injectors, come to find out that this was sent back and resold again , I pay 299.00 and then I paid 5400.00 to have my truck fix. my friend bought one online and the same dam thing, a different vin in tuner again, people send them back to get there money back and they don't check them out , thanks

When I first got the programmer it would not program my 2004 F-350 6.0L. My batteries were new and fully charged all my data lines were good, and I even when as far as getting the FICM and ECM reprogrammed by the Ford dealer. I called SCT after all this and told them what was going on. They were very helpful, the gentleman had linked into my home computer to made sure the was nothing wrong with my computer settings and even went as far as making sure my programmer software was up to date with a tune to test. I went out to the truck, he stayed on the line and we talked about what was going on while trying to program. In the end he ended wanting me to send them the programmer to see what was going on. It had a faulty board, they fixed it quickly and even paid the return shipping to Canada. Works like a charm till this day. Would highly recommend SCT for the Ford 6.0L, only if it has the head stud update and other engine fixes.
