This is a big 29er bike, even at 17 inch (small/medium listed) frame, I'm 5'11" (32 inch inseam) the stand over height of the upper frame bar is danger close for me. I can only wonder how big a 19 or 21 inch (medium and large) frames would be. I recommend frame size research before purchasing, or perhaps, do not dismiss the 27.5 wheel size models. The bike arrived as promised, the box had a 10" slash, and a corner was caved in, however, the bike was undamaged, great packaging by the manufacturer. About 90% of the bike frame is wrapped in various protective coverings, therefore not a scratch occurred. The vendor's (sports by sager) price is unbeatable, this bike is easily comparable to a Diamond back, Trek, or GT entry level MTB class, for about $250-$350 less, no kidding. The aluminum frame, welding, paint quality is the same or better than the known name brand ones. I can tell SE is really focused on product quality. I am going to upgrade to an anatomical saddle, but that is just my preference.
The bike comes mostly unassembled; tires, handlebars, front brake, various cables, derrailer, seat, pedals, reflectors, and disc brakes assemblies need to be bolted on. I found instructions for the handlebars and fork, but nothing else. Without instructions, It's going to take about four hours to put together, it wasn't a problem for me. If you are not mechanically inclined, take the bike to a shop (required for warranty) or find a friend that has done this before, or browse the web for instructional videos. This bike is going to last a long time, the price point is incredible.

After several hours of heavy trail use, a few spills, and muddy river bed crossings, the SE bike is holding up strong. The bike gets plenty of compliments and looks like a $600-800 bike. The front suspension coil fork is built stout, it is a bit on the heavy side, but it offers a solid ride on and off the trails. This is not an air fork, but a coil/spring type that is adjustable for stiffness. I will eventually replace the bike tires with a more aggressive off road tires once they wear out.
So far I have ridden just over 100 miles and I am very pleased with the bike. It has all the major features I was looking for without breaking the bank. Like all 29’ers this is a large bike and at 5’ 10” I purchased the 17” frame which is just right. My only negative is I found the saddle a little hard for my personal taste but I replaced it with a Blackburn Sport Trail Saddle also from Amazon which was more to my liking.
I cannot comment on how well this bike would fair in extreme conditions but if like me you mostly ride paths and easier off-road trails and you want a good bike with decent components at a reasonable price then add this to your shortlist.
I took it to a professional bike shop to assemble ($80) and check all of the gears, breaks, and frame. The veteran tech was verbal about how impressed he was with the quality as well as the overall look of it. It's no $6k super advanced trail bike, but certainly at the top of it's own class. I learned that most all of these bikes are similar, but I am convinced that I made a great decision in purchasing this SE. As always great service from Amazon. Just get it and enjoy the ride!
