About the Author
In her own words:
"My name is Jacquie Biggar. When I'm not acting like a total klutz, I am a wife, mother of one, grandmother, and a butler to my calico cat.
My guilty pleasures are reality tv shows like Amazing Race and The Voice. I can be found every Monday night in my armchair plastered to the television laughing at Blake's shenanigans.
I love to hang at the beach with DH (darling hubby) taking pictures or reading romance novels(what else?).
I have a slight Tim Hortons obsession, enjoy gardening, everything pink, and talking to my friends."
She has been blessed with a long, happy marriage and enjoys writing romance novels that end with happily-ever-afters.

Toss in a group called the Renegade Resolvers, a fundamentalist right wing group hell bent on complete evil and the plot thickens. The setting for this novel takes place mostly at the ranch that Chief Frank Stein owns...
Agent Maggie has had terrible experiences as the result of being held captive and needs to have rest and relaxation to heal herself. It appears that the ranch Frank Stein owns will enable her to get rid of some demons. Loved the stallion, Orenda, and also think Frank, the Chief, is indeed a horse whisperer.
Lots more in this one and the author has managed to describe the brotherhood perfectly that exists between members of a SEAL team...HOOYAH for that.. The topic of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is handled well and the reader feels Maggie's pain in healing.
The addition of romance offers the reader some respite from the action throughout the novel... When that love buy strikes, it strikes fast...oh, my goodness.. Perfect ending for this outstanding novel...
Excellent character development (including strong female characters), plot well written and the setting on the ranch will make the reader long for a ride on a horse.
Most highly recommended.
Once I realized that the Maggie's Revenge may play a part of this book (especially since it deals with the same characters), I made sure to read it first. I am so glad that I did. It started out just days after the ending of the other book. Now most people may not have a problem with reading this book and not the prior one but my brain needed that extra boost.
This is a very well written story. The action is fast flowing. The author had several different mini sub plots that will converge here and I think in the next book(s). Also she also had prior characters included a great deal here and it showed some of the "family" life of those characters. I haven't read those books but I have now purchased them and I definitely will be reading them.
Maggie and Adam are DEA agents and Amanda is their boss. Frank, Maggie, Adam and Amanda return from Mexico after rescuing Maggie from her kidnapping. She had been held for almost a year. Adam is her not only her partner but a former lover as well. He had been thinking that he is still in love with Maggie but started to develop feelings for Amanda, his boss. Frank owns a multi-generational ranch in Texas. He has been in developing feeling of his own for Maggie (and vice versa).
This book is written in a multi-character POV format. There were some very different and yet connected action sequences and just kept me glued to my e-reader. Then the author was very crafty and would switch up the action. WOW!!! I was amazed at how much the author threw at these characters!!! I really felt for them. There were some scenes that I re-read several times (they were just so touching and heart-felt!). I adored these characters. I feel sad that I have to say good-bye to them (until the next book is written - hopefully she is a fast writer!) I am totally invested in the plot that is underlying these books.
There is just some kissing and touching. The sexy scenes were just eluded to but not written here. I love when I can use my imagination to "fill in the blanks". If you LOVE some romance with a lot of suspense, mystery and intrigue, read these books. Now I have to go and start this series at the beginning and read the secondary characters stories that I met here.
This is the seventh book in the Wounded Hearts series and continues where book six, Maggie's Revenge, ends. The team of DEA agents, including Maggie, is camped out at Frank's ranch for some much-needed R&R. But trouble follows them in the forms of escaped convicts, cattle rustlers and illegal drug shipments.
This is an entertaining, fast-paced novel that will keep you reading long after bedtime. Since I have not read any of the previous books in this series, I can definitively say that The SEAL's Temptation qualifies as a stand-alone novel, although I found it difficult at times to keep the numerous characters straight. While Maggie and Frank have their HFN (happily for now) ending, there are numerous details that are not resolved, thus leaving the reader with a cliffhanger. Jacquie Biggar delivers great writing, an interesting plot and complex characters. I am anxious to read books 6 and 8 to immerse myself in the lives and loves of these "Wounded Hearts".

The SEAL’s Temptation is the seventh book in the Wounded Hearts series by Jacquie Biggar. It is a wounded warrior/military romance and a romantic suspense full of danger, drama, emotion, action, a bit of a love triangle, PTSD, and twists + turns. It had all the ingredients needed to keep me hooked and hurriedly turning the pages, avidly reading all the developments to find out how everything would play out.
This is the seventh book in the series, but can be read as a standalone if you wanted. But having said that, it does follow on from “Maggie’s Revenge” (Book #6) as Maggie is also a MC in this story- so I strongly suggest that reading that book before starting on this one as it will better help you appreciate this story.
Maggie Holt is a DEA agent who is recovering from an undercover mission that nearly cost her life. Her 18month with the Mexican Drug cartel has played havoc with her mental and emotional wellbeing, leaving Maggie feeling quite broken, and a shadow of her former self.
Frank Stein is a former SEAL and owner of the ranch. He hopes that the beautiful, peaceful setting of the ranch will help Maggie on her road to recovery. But what happens when we throw in a bit of a love triangle into the situation, and then add some escaped convicts, and an extremist group to the plot? We get an intense, and gripping read that definitely had its hooks in me right through till the end!
I wonder what Ms. Biggar has in store for us next!
Thank you, Jacquie Biggar!
