I don't have a clue about SEO, how to 'do it,' how to maximize my time, how to start, etc., so I will say this book helps with that. It feels a bit overwhelming if you look at it in its whole, but taking things step by step as you actually implement the steps helps.
I have gone to some of the suggested websites. I've done a few of the suggested steps. I've really only touched the surface of what can be done. He does a good job of laying out the steps and organizing the book so that I can refer to those specific things I'll be doing.
Just before writing this review, I signed up for the free PDF, and I am curious to see if I'll be receiving a lot of spammy type emails. If I do, I will be back to report that here. If I receive helpful hints and tips, fine. If I receive emails trying to sell me more or annoying other spammy emails, or daily emails, then I will report that here and unsubscribe.
One thing that bothered me is some of the grammar/syntax. The one that kept poking at me the most is how he used Google in the plural. For example (my own example), 'Google are the best search engine for ...' Google is one entity, really. You wouldn't say/write, 'My team are great ....' You would say/write, 'My team is great ....' You wouldn't say/write, 'Wal-Mart are ....' You would say/write, 'Wal-Mart is ...." That is the same with Google. It's not to be used as a They are but as an It is type of situation. This bugged the heck out of me every time I read a sentence with Google as a plural instead of as one Entity. Rant over!
Though I think having a basic knowledge of how SEO works would really be helpful, this book had some easy to understand basics for a newbie, like me.
I'm planning on launching a couple blogs in the near future, and I wanted to do things the right way right from the get go. The last time I had really dived into SEO theory was about 10 years ago, so I wanted something that would serve as a refresher, and to fill in the gaps regarding all the changes and updates that have happened over the years. In that sense, this book was a really good buy. It's really concise, to the point and not full of fluff. I read the book over a couple days and took a lot of notes, not wanting to miss any critical tasks when I launch my blogs in the near future. The checklists that are provided at the end of the book are great too.
I definitely recommend this book for anyone who's starting in SEO from scratch or has some knowledge but wants to get up to speed on the latest Google updates and practices.
The three-star ranking is based upon the lack of evidence that the manuscript came anywhere close to a proofreader or, if so, the proofreader was completely careless, overpaid, or some combination of the two. The most egregious oversight was the consistent treatment of "Google" as a plural noun rather than the collective noun it most clearly is. Perhaps a star should be added for consistency, but having to contend with that error throughout the book negates any such notion. There are also many run-on sentences and other errors that defy the careful proofreading as sadly absent. (Incidentally, I cannot believe that Google considers itself to be plural; if so, shame on Google.)

Me han servido para mi trabajo del día a día y ya no tengo que andar buscando por entre varios sitios las actualizaciones que Google realiza, ya que Adam lo presenta de una manera muy fácil de comprender.
Easy to read and comprehend.
