I thought I would update this review. I originally gave it 3 stars. In order to get to the extra tools, the author has you rate it prior to reading the book. So I was rating this on a reading the first 2 chapters only. I can say that the book is much more dense after that. It has great information and lays out exactly how to do things. I am still only 1/2 way through and will update this review when I finish. Thank you to Dr. McDonald for his tightrope walk between too little data and too much.
He explains SEO in seven main steps: 1-Goals, 2-Keywords, 3-On Page SEO, 4-Content Marketing, 5-Off Page SEO, 6-Metrics, 7-Learning.
Each of the steps are explained well in the book using an easy prose, with a dedicated chapter/sub-chapter for each, along with exercises in actually executing the lessons along the way. With each chapter that passes you feel the gaps in your SEO strategy starting to fill in.
In addition to the explanations and exercises, there are numerous references to internet tools to supplement your learning and execution. By the end of the book you will have a structured view of how to do SEO, with an SEO program developed that if you commit to, will provide you tremendous and surprising results.
It’s another 240-page workbook but once again it is readable with lots of confidence building, encouragement, and practical hands-on advice. Plain English is spoken throughout and there is no Techtimidation which is what Jason calls jargon used by techies to intimidate the rest of us. His analogies are helpful, useful and often good for a laugh. They will keep you moving forward from building positive attitude to acquiring technical knowledge and finally getting to the place where you can do the work of implementation.
After you purchase the book don’t forget to register online so that you can easily access the videos, worksheets and clickable links to resources. The TODOs and worksheets will really help you fine tune your thinking so that you can effectively use the power of SEO to your benefit. Jason McDonald has come through with another book that will help all of us.
For example, inside the book he immediately tells you that you can learn SEO and design your own website from scratch so long as you are a 'doer' and have the right attitude to complete all of the tasks (deliverables) in the book. Of course you do not have to submit these but it helps, for example to compile a keyword worksheet in your interest of website.
There are stacks of videos which he does himself. Jason is easy to understand and again reinforces everything stated in the chapter and continually goes over the key take home learning principles. Well I for one like this style of teaching because all one has to do is commit to taking the time to learn everything you can in SEO Fitness workbook 2017. In no time you will be designing a website and writing the SEO yourself. I use a website builder which is still relevant to the book, but Jason also goes into HTML code where you learn the main principles.
Communication is also great via email with Jason about anything in relation to SEO Fitness workbook 2017. Theres also other courses you can take and basically the ability for further lifetime education in the area of SEO and more!
In no time you will be writing SEO that google understands and puts you right up there on page 1.
