The instructions specify a particular (Slater is the vendor) part numbers for new construction and old work. I would strongly suggest ordering the old work outlet box if you intend to install this outlet in an existing wall. The instructions also say the you should test any existing box the ensure proper fit and change the box if necessary. That's OK for a retrofit but a tall order for electrical work in a finished wall.
Once installed the outlet seems to be a bit larger than I expected but acceptable in fit and finish. I did put a couple of coats of white primer around the black edging of the finish plate. (I was expecting the finish plate to be all white.) I may have ordered the part incorrectly though as only the surface and top edge were finished in gloss white.
