Combine this item with a dual NEMA 5/15R splitter (like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KWTT046 ), and you have a very handy power splitter to use your streaming stick - such as a Roku or Amazon device - in a hotel room, using the TV set's existing power cord.

Yes, you could plug into the hotel room TV's USB port, but the problem there is, usually the TV's USB port gets powered down when the TV turns off. This means when you power it back on, your streaming device gets reset, which sometimes means having to go through the hassle of re-connecting it to WiFi.
