This cable is used to connect a laptop computer to a classroom sound system that is not as close to where the computer goes as it should be. This 25' cord serves its purpose and the computer sounds great on the sound sytstem. It runs from the headphone out jack on the laptop (or the headphone jack on any phone, tablet, or mp3 player, for that matter) to the RCA jacks on the sound system. Male at both ends. I have had no problems at all with this cable.

it stays in place all day, everyday, but somehow it already has
a short in it right at the plug into the laptop.
i tried to use it in my ipod and i had to the get the cord just right.
