This is how subtle he steps into this new arena: ‘I casually glanced at my friends, having a difficult time believing how long I'd really known them, and feeling something that I couldn't quite explain at the time, toward the two of them, but that manifested itself quite clearly and vividly. I think, at the time I dismissed it, as camaraderie, or at least I tried to. The joy of being so close with two human beings for so long, and having the privilege to spend so much of your life with them was exhilarating.’
Arpi’s now dives in the shape shifting realm and offers what appears to be a simple story of a girl (Beth) who also waits tables in a bar encountering a strange twosome which leads to a well molded sci-fi tale of shape shifting. And for those for whom this term may be new, Arpi defines it in the conversation between the two men Dan and Tom regarding the mysterious Matt that Beth met:’ “Right,” Dan sighed. “Believe it or not, this sort of thing happens a lot. Some shifters get a bit of a thrill out of it. Matt was one of them. He liked to go around these rural towns and victimize people, sometimes as a bear and sometimes as a man- often both. Now, there is an unspoken rule among shifters that we don’t hurt humans, and he was breaking it. Tom and I take that kind of offense very seriously, and we spend most of our time putting an end to that kind of behavior. Fortunately we’ve been able to save a lot of people, but we haven’t been able to catch him until now.” “Matt is absolutely evil,” Tom continued. “That’s why all the normal animals cleared out of here at night. They can sense it.” And naturally the three - Beth, Dan and Tom - make up for the mystery by engaging in some very steamy encounters.
It is always refreshing when an author can do his own shifting among various approaches to erotica. R.P. James is becoming a master at this. Grady Harp, July 15
While she is home is home at night all the animals in the woods go silent, she knows this is weird but doesn't know why. Then one day while shopping she runs into another stranger, that says he's passing thru, and invites her to lunch. She has a very uneasy feeling about him but can't pinpoint what. When she at work that night the two brothers come in acting like they are really mad and inquire to wheather she has met any one new and get mad when she says yes but it's none of their business. They tell her to go home and lock herself in that night and not open her door. When she gets off it's raining, and she hurry's home, Shortly after getting comfortable, there's a knock on the door and it's the new stranger in town. He's say's his car broke down on the road and just followed the lane to the first place he came across. She invites him in, offer's him tea, and goes to find some dry clothes for him, and when she returns, she can't find him, but he finds her and everything goes wrong.

The story is really bad. No depth to the character or story at all. The love scenes are hilarious! But that is due in large part to the narrator also.Read more
