Syslog is reporting problems on my usb bus since plugging this thing in. Ever since I plugged this thing in, I'm getting random restarts on my system or my system freezes. I just unplugged the thing, and everything seems to be working smoothly. Placing under observation. Will update this review shortly.

3.0 to 2.0 Works well

If you have a case with a 3.0 adapter and a motherboard with only a 2.0 slot then you'll definitely need this. I had the connection come loose once during set up, which is why I took a star off, but other than that it works great. It's definitely better than having a dead USB 3.0 slot on the front of your PC.

Converts a USB 3.0 header into a USB 2.0 header. My Mobo is older and doesn't have any USB 3.0 headers, but my case is newer and has 2 USB 3.0 ports on the front. This allowed me to use the USB 3.0 ports on the front as USB 2.0. Much better than having 2 useless ports. Exactly what I needed until I build a new computer.

I used this to put and old Inspiron 580 motherboard into a Fractal Designs case. (Why? Because I could.)

I needed to connect a usb 3.0 port to a usb 2.0 header on the mobo. Worked fine. On the USB 3 side, there was a noticeable gap between the connector and the cable. Like they forgot to shrink it. One of the pins was bent, but I was able to straighten in out.

Has been working fine for the last month. For that reason, I recommend.

works great! allows you to use the 3.0USB port on the front of your casing if your motherboard does not have a 9 pin socket. tho keep in mind your front port 3.0 will NOT be a 3.0, it will be a 2.0 because you are plugging it into a 2.0 header on your mother board

Smallest wires ever, but it does do the job.

There is nothing that explains what amperage you should be pulling from this, but I'll tell you this, the wires are so small, please don't try and pull more than 500mA from it. It might burn up due to physics here and ohms law. The wires are nearly resistors as a result. So for flash drives, and stuff they are great. Plug in a cell phone and the phone can't even charge at a fast rate, my phone says "Charging Slowly" when using this adapter as a result despite my phone being USB 2.0 to begin with (and on a direct USB 2.0 port it charges rapidly).

But with that said, it does work, just be a bit careful with it. It's fragile due to those wires.

This product does its job well; my mistake was that I bought it thinking that it would work as 3..0. For not being careful when buying and for not informing me properly I ended up paying more; but for those who want to make their ports 3.0 to 2.0 will not have any problem. The SIENOC USB 3.0 20 Pin, does the conversion well and gives the required speed of ports 2.0.
