This high-quality double hammock made of pure organic cotton offers traditional Brazilian handicraft, quality and exceptional comfort all rolled into one. COPA is our tribute to brazil and soccer - and it is available in four selected team colors: bearing the colors of the Japanese national team, samurai blue is a place of repose from the land of smiles. Thanks To its stretchy diagonal weave, it fits your body's contours perfectly. The artistic and decorative fringes and macramé netting between the hammock's fabric and numerous suspension cords are typical for Brazilian hammocks and the many cords ensure optimal weight distribution and incredible comfort. The organic cotton is soft to the touch and yet easy to clean. You do a good thing for both yourself and for Brazilian street kids by buying a COPA. With the proceeds la siesta supports the project "Dito Escolinha" in the Brazilian city of Fortaleza. By donating 5 for each COPA sold, the German charity "tor our Hoffnung" (=gateway to hope) provides Dito's beach soccer academy with training equipment, learning aids and much more.
Top customer reviews
If you are thinking of spending a lot of time in a hammock, I would definitely go with one of the LA Siesta organic hammocks. I pulled out my old hammock that I had for back yard use to take it camping. It is your typical parachute material... ugh... they are so sweaty and uncomfortable! They are not soft and do not breathe and contour to your body like these organic cotton ones. Those days are over!
On another note that might help someone out there: anyone with PTSD, who has come out of very hard circumstances and that struggle at night may find amazing relief sleeping in a hammock... it cradles you and holds you in a way that is so unlike a bed... there is a good chance that it will alleviate many triggers that people can experience at bedtime. I have not read this, but know this first hand. I would actually like to start a study on it.
A few tips:
-Sleep at an angle. This allows the gathered folds to contour with the shape of your body, and give you the support where you need, instead of sleeping in a banana shape.
- Play with the tension of it. Find your sweet spot on how swooped or lengthened out you want it to be.
-The best accessory I bought to go with my hammock is a 100% Irish Merino Wool sweater that goes down to my thighs. I sleep in this almost every night... even mild summer nights. Wool is a natural fiber that is breathable and regulates your body temperature. I quickly realized that mattresses keep you hot, and with hammock sleeping you have fresh air circulating around your body. With this, however, your backside can be cold. Since I have been sleeping in my "sleeping sweater" I have beautifully solved that problem. I also cuddle up with an Irish Merino wool throw blanket.
-Pillow or not? -Hammocks naturally elevate your head, so you may find that a pillow is unnecessary. My usual arrangement is sleeping with a soft cotton throw and bunching it around my head in whatever way feels comfortable. That is what I have come to like best.
-Wash it in the tub. I wash mine in tepid water with Eucelin wash. It washes beautifully that way. I wring it out, roll it in a towel and compress it, and then hang it back up.
I hope this information helps someone! Definitely a life changing purchase for me!
I've washed the hammock in the wash several times, I sleep on it nightly, and both the hammock and frame have broken in nicely. Wear is minimal as of this review.
I don't have anything to compare to as this setup is the very first setup I have bought when it comes to hammocks. However the La Siesta quality has set the standard of all hammocks I will purchase in the future. Including La Siesta itself.
If you're a first time hammock user like myself, the La Siesta Brazilian style hammock is a good place to start.
