SINdrome (The New Lyons Sequence Book 3) Kindle Edition
The Synth revolution has come at last. The supposedly synthetic beings humans crafted to do their dirty work for them have fully actualized their own humanity—and they no longer acquiesce in their enslavement. Victory in the struggle to tear down the institutions of oppression seems just a matter of time. But the halls of power are not so easily shaken—and a counterstrike is inevitable.
Former Detective Jason Campbell has pledged his life to the Synthetic cause. So when a mysterious virus starts wiping out Synths left and right—and shows signs of mutating to target everyone else—he must lead a race against time to prevent the outbreak of the most horrific plague the world has ever seen. If he succeeds, he’ll expose the moral bankruptcy of the depraved elites who will stop at nothing to restore the old order. If he fails, it could mean the end of life on this planet. For both Synth and Human.
Praise for SINthetic
“Darkly engrossing, SINthetic shines a stark light on the age-old question, what does it mean to be human?”—Julie Kagawa, New York Times bestselling author

About the author

J.T. Nicholas is the author of the science fiction novels Stolen Earth (May 2021 from Titan Books) and ReCoil (available now from Titan Books) and the neo-noire science fiction series, The New Lyons Sequence (available now from Rebel Base Books).
J.T. was born in Lexington, Virginia, though within six months he moved (or was moved, rather) to Stuttgart, Germany. Thus began the long journey of the military brat, hopping from state to state and country to country until, at present, he has accumulated nearly thirty relocations. This experience taught him that, regardless of where one found oneself, people were largely the same.
When not writing, J.T. spends his time practicing a variety of martial arts, playing games (video, tabletop, and otherwise), and reading everything he can get his hands on.
J.T. currently resides in Wilmington, North Carolina with his wife, a cat to which he is terribly allergic, and two Australian Shepherds who have decided that, despite weighing 50+ pounds, they are, in fact, lap dogs.

A human Jason Campbell has made it his life mission to help the synth’s as he believes that they deserve the same rights as humans. Jason and Silas a synth must find a way to stop this virus before it destroys all synth. If it mutates it could infect humans as well killing everyone in its tracks.
I fell in love with the world of The New Lyons and all the characters in the first book SINthetic. I would love to see The New Lyons Sequence on the big screen. I can’t wait to see what the author has in-store for us next.
I would recommend SINdrome to anyone whos loves science fiction.
In the series opener Jason had come across the brutal murder of a young woman and found that she was a synthetic. Synthetic’s were treated as nothing more than property so Jason should have walked away from the scene but he couldn’t let such a gruesome death go. Investigating led Jason to find that synthetics had much more in common with humans than he’d imagined.
SINdrome has picked up shortly after the end of the second book with Jason still in prison. The synthetic movement however can’t afford to leave Jason behind prison walls because a new twist has come about where the synthetics are now becoming ill. Is it a master plan to wipe them out before the revolution can begin?
This series is definitely one that is best to read in order as the world was set in the first book and I think a reader jumping in would be lost on what is happening now. The first book was a bit of a scifi/fantasy mixed with a detective mystery but now the main character is a wanted man by siding with the synths and helping their rebellion. The action is fast paced with each read building upon the last leading up to this explosive installment.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
This book shares the strengths and weaknesses of the series, although I think that Mr. Nicholas has settled more comfortably into his writing voice. I continue to have grave doubts about the biology. Details of the virus's location in the body and vaccine synthesis probably won't hinder your enjoyment of the book unless you are a cranky biologist.
I received a review copy of "SINdrome: The New Lyons Sequence Book 3" by J.T. Nicholas (Kensington) through NetGalley.com.
