- Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2023I sought an ADHD diagnosis at 43. I realized the only thing that kept me going though COVID lockdowns was a highly structured job. But, I’m looking to change careers to something much less structured…Which I’ve always failed at in the past.
At first I thought the structure of this book was deceptively simple. It starts by breaking down the lists of descriptors for someone with ADHD. It gives a section that breaks Big Terms into smaller ideas showing how you might experience the symptom. Then it gives a page to write reflections. This alone is worth the price of the book. Seeing that there’s an explanation and tools I can use to overcome what I just thought was laziness and lack of focus that I had no control over.
This book isn’t going to fix my focus issues, but definitely helps me past the clouds in my brain enough to see a way to navigate through them.
And I can’t say just how helpful it is to have a resource geared to me as a Black Woman with ADHD! Love this book!
