If you're like me and want to know what's bad first then I'll start off with 3rd party attachments. If you do not purchase skil parts there's always a concern about fuctionality. Skil is usually supported by 3rd parties but this is usually in the manuals only. Makes it difficult to posses a good set of professional variations. You also have to order from Bosch to get most parts (this information is hard to obtain).
Some examples are Husky workbench/router table and Milescraft router guide set. None of these fit the fixed base and these tools can be essential at times. You may have to machine shop your own solutions that is a bad safety concern for amateurs. The point being this SEEMS like a novice tool but it's more intermediate than you think.
Out of the box you will want to check all parts! The nut piece on the slide mechanism was loose and right away my collet was slipping down on pieces. I absently found I also need additional tools to make the adjustments for this serious safety concern. Don't be too trusting.
Most of the above is safety and accessories. ..
The professional flaw is this is a latch and knob router. When you make height adjustment and close the latch the height will calibrate further 1/16". Not a huge deal but twist routers i believe correct this error.
As far as using 1/4" and 1/2" base bits this is perfect. Most cabinet and heavier bits require the 1/2" diameter. Almost any bit should work. It comes with collet adapters for this.
Tighten bits is done with a wrench. While it may be moderate spacing i have yet to have a problem other than wear. The Skil router table is perfect and intended for this model. Not many problems there as well. It will overall be your shop's cost efficiency choice.
The odd part is the 3 screws that hold the base. It is in a triangle and makes it interesting in mounting. Obviously the flaw with 3rd parties.
I mostly work with softwood, plywood and laminate and it has overall performed flawlessly. There is an option for a vacuum attachment but finding the part for the hose has been fruitless. This is the worst of all your tools in saw dust, but i argue there would be more cords in the way.
I have had exciting tool times with it and it's a great first router. I trust it more now and jealousy is not an issue. I would recommend it and there are only 2 others i can think of in this price range. But if you want a pro shop i think you would have both if not all. It's a plane thing after all...
Much cheaper alternative than buying a pre-made shaper unit.

Only con is that the lights stay on while pluged in - they should go off and on with the switch.
