1 The legs are folding to make it more portable. This is fine but when extended the "locks" are not positive enough to really hold them in place, so that table wabbles
2 The router is held in in place by 4 clips that go over the base and are clamped down be large finger nuts. These can only be made finger tight and they loosen from the vibration of the router so the router comes loose and shifts while you are working
3 The finger nuts are on screws that are "anchored" into the particle board top. Even using just finger strength these anchors pull out of the particle board making the table useless.

This is obviously make fore someone that will use it one since after 2 uses the anchors pulled out and the only thing I could do was put it out with the rest of the garbage

1) The plastic inserts in the guide have way too much play. A bit of laminate and 1/2" MDF and you will be happy with it.
2) The table is not level. The stress from the miter slot warps the front side of the table

On the plus side
- extra plug for your vac
- This thing runs almost dust free
- Oddly, it is pretty sturdy, even with folding legs
- Pouch is a nice feature to store inserts and custom feather board

Other thoughts,
I really like the base (enough that I bought 2 of these so I can keep my rail and stile bits setup), and will probably end up making a couple new tops.

This Is the best "portable " table ive had so far. Yea its not the $200 bosch but for less than half the price it is acceptable. I spend about 20hrs a week on mine and have no problems. I check the fingernuts that hold the router to the table every day. Only had 1 of them come loose 1 time. The skill 2 1/4 hp router fits perfectly fine in it. I used it for almost a month like that before I got a portercable fixed base for $20 at a yard sale. I now use the skil router for my engraving. But again. The table. Awesome. For my now small shop it's perfect. The plastic fences do suck, a lot, but I just double check measurements before I cut anything. That cures that.
If you want a professional grade table then but one. If you want a table that is compact and do a great job then buy this!

WARNING: I bought a Skil 1830 120V 2-1/4 HP Combo Base Router Set and a Skil RAS800 Router Table, but they DO NOT WORK together!

The RAS800 Skil Router Table ONLY works with routers that have a 6" or 6.5" circular base.

The NEW Skil 1830 Router has a 6.25" fixed base that does not fit the Skil Router Table. How's that for bad design?

The Skil website has no information about it's router tables at all (they're not even listed online as of 1/20/2012) and has no information about product compatibility.

Customer Service, which is only available weekdays, told me they have no information about which routers are compatible with which router tables.

Now I have to return everything!

The fence is all plastic even though it appears to be black powder coated steel like the legs are in photos, and the light grey plastic in/out feed sides of the fence have way too much flex play, especially at the outside ends. Impossible to do anything accurately with this thing without building a whole new fence assembly out of MDF. If I have to go that far, then I may as well just go all the way and build a whole table for the Skil 1830 router, which is now my plan whether or not CPO Outlets lets me return this. The miter gauge is far too loose in the track, and the degree markings on the gauge are over half a degree off from true. The Skil 1830 router, which I feel is a very nice router for the price, will fit, but it's essentially sitting on about 2mm of the edge of the circle cut into the MDF. Another thing that makes me very uncomfortable about it since the four hold downs are a poor design that comes loose far too easily. Pretty sure if I tightened them down as hard as they need to be tightened to properly secure the router to the table those anchor bolts will just tear right out of the MDF table, thereby ruining the whole thing. The "leg lock" mechanisms are horrible. In fact the black legs are about the only real metal on the thing. Not that I'm against plastic for some of the parts where appropriate, but I feel the fence assembly should have been steel or aluminum with MDF in/out feed fence faces, as well as two lock downs for each of those instead of one. Even locked and screwed down to a table the whole thing isn't rigid. There is so little room underneath I basically have to remove the router to change a bit, or else I have to unscrew the legs from the table in order to turn it around since the power outlets are right in the way.Read more ›

The product is not built with the highest quality material. The plastic is a little thinner than it should and the table top needs attention in order to prevent damages during use. But for a hundred bucks I would not expect more. It would not even be fair.
I have attached my Skil 1830 plunge router with no issues. It is worth to mention that plunge routers are not listed as necessarily compatible with this table router.
The fence provides a reliable cutting support and the dust collector works well enough avoid a big mess after use. It folds nicely fitting any 18" deep cabinet.
I do not expect to use it daily, or professionally, so I am very satisfied with what I got for the money.
