UPDATE:
3-4 years later and this net is still working great for us. It has been left out in the elements from time to time (although it's usually put away in the garage). The durability has been better than expected for us

===========================================

I have and will compare this item to the Jugs Instant Screen

I have a 7 year old boy and 4 year old girl. They use this screen for batting off a tee and soft toss. They also use the strike zone target for working on throwing accuracy. I am 37 years old and I hit off the soft toss as well, so it gets hit hard and soft.

I coach my sons under 8 baseball team and we will use this and the Jugs product during practices.

I have the 5x5 Foot net and would strongly recommend that you get the 7x7-foot instead. The 5x5 works, but having that extra 2x2 feet would be a huge difference.

The assembly and take-down for this is quick, easy, and straight forward. This product beats the Jugs Instant screen in this aspect. I always dread folding up the Jugs net.

The quality of the netting has nothing on the Jugs product. Jugs has a very durable netting while this has a softer feel to it. I suspect that the netting on this will give out well before my Jugs net.

Strike Zone Box on this is much better than the Jugs. The Jugs version is just a hanging box/outline. This one is complete with a net to catch the strikes and attaches to all four corners rather than two straps.

Because this net is square shaped, it will also be handy for my kids soccer practices. The round Jugs net is not useful in that situation.

If you're like me, you have been reading review after review, looking at picture after picture, trying to figure out what hitting net to invest your $100-$150 in. Stop researching and buy this net now! I use it for my 9-10 year old team and utilize it for several different soft toss hitting stations. After about a month of use, it seems to be holding up very well (these kids are tough on it).

I also have the net that "folds" up in a circle. Does anyone ever really figure out how to get them back into the carrying case? The SKLZ 7X7 net is sooooo easy to set up and take down (under a minute for each). After dissasembly, it actually will go back into the easy to tote carry bag!

I am very picky about the equipment I invest in for my team, and I am absolutely pleased with this net!

Very, very happy with this purchase!
It is easy to set up and take down, just a couple of minutes for each.
Even though it is 7' by 7' my 5' 5" wife also has no problem setting the Quickster up.
Very sturdy, my son and his friends use regulation baseballs hitting off a tee into the net as well as pitching into the target without any damage at all so far (about 2 months of use).
I would highly recommend this over a pop- up version which are easy to set up but difficult to fold up.

The top of the tension-tite poles are cheap plastic and after about a dozen uses the plastic cracked. SKLZ does not sell replacement part. I do not recommend this product.

This net is awesome. Any parent with a baseball/softball player quickly gets to that wonderful age where backyard hitting is no longer a possibility. We recently got to the point of going through an entire bag of baseballs, then spending a half hour trying to find all of the balls in the weeds and such. This wasn't working for us.

This net, coupled with a nice baseball tee, we use one made by McGregor, works perfect for getting tons of hitting practice without spending all your time running around the backyard gathering up balls.

This also works great for carrying to practice and setting up a hitting station. The kids can line up and go through hitting drills while the coach plays the role of placing the balls on the tee.

It is a shame that I have to take a star away from this awesome product, but we nearly returned this product due to one of the connections being flawed. On one of the lower corner connections, the metal clip that pops into the hole on the other rod is fouled and will not work correctly. The internal bungee cord on that connection is also fouled up. But, after studying the connection and deciding that it was a tight enough connection as to not require the metal clip anyway, we decided that since the rest of the product was above expectations, there was really no need to return the product and to just accept the minor problem.

Thanks to SKLZ for an awesome product. We have several products from SKLZ and they really seem to know what products are in demand and how best to make them work.

This net, once assembled, is quite large. But, disassembled, it stores well and takes up very little room using the bag that comes with it. Setup takes just a few short minutes and tear down is the same. No tools are required for setup or take down. We have used this net for a couple of months now and it continues working perfectly.

This is a very nice net for its intended purpose however the quality is lacking. We have had the unit for less than a year. During the winter it was stored away inside. This Spring we got it out and when the summer break started I set it up in our side yard for my son to use as the assembly and dismantling of it is a bit too much for him. After around 4 weeks I went to pack it up and found that one of the tension poles had broken. Readying through some of the other reviews here this seams like this may be a common issue.

This product comes with a one year warranty though SKLZ negates the warrant for any item left outside. So does the fact that this product (an outdoors products at that) was left outside for a month mean that I have no warranty? The product was really only used a handful of times and it has not bee abused - all other pieces look okay. I have contacted SKLZ and if they come through and replace the broken part then I will amend my review back up to 5 stars. However right now, an outdoor product that breaks after limited use and because it was outside has not warranty only gets 2 star.
