When applied to rusted surfaces, it resists/retards rust in chemical change on drying to a tough, hard surface ready for priming. Paint jobs will last longer after an application of OSPHO because subsequent paint coating securely attaches itself so that moisture and oxygen normally do not attack the metal. Water-thin, covers a larger area than paint and goes on easily. Equally effective for exterior or interior.

Use according to directions and it WILL work effectively.
Be aware that it is an acid.
It's not a harsh acid, but suitable protection for exposed skin and eyes is suggested.
I recently used this to kill the rust on the under body of my 2009 GMC Sierra.
It has wetting agents and really penetrates deep into the rust.
Just knock off the loose, scaly stuff before applying the Ospho. For really tough stuff, two applications might be required.
Only one was need for my truck.
The entire under body was sprayed with Ospho. The only thing I can see that was affected is the rust. It was all converted to iron phosphate!
Iron phosphate is an inert protective coating itself and does not require painting, though I did (Rustoleum original with fish oil).
This will turn your concrete driveway white, so, if that's a problem, just keep rinsing it off.
Update 01 March 2015: It has been about 16 months, since doing this. Not a speck of rust anywhere. Job looks like the day it was done. This truck was rusting out from under me.
