Update #2: After ADDING foam thinking it would help and realizing that was a mistake I then REMOVED foam (see pic) beyond what it came with and I think it might be better because the reduced height gives the scrap material less opportunity to do what it does best which is wreak havoc on comfort. It's still a lot of work and requires flipping almost daily due to being nothing more than a nice liner and cover filled with scrap foam that was destined for the land fill.
Update: Have had product for several months now and here's my sentiments in a nutshell (long original review below): I wanted something to chill and relax on, but instead I own a piece of furniture that is like a pert time job to keep in use due to being filled with scrap foam!!! Oh yes they say it's virgin material but that doesn't mean it isn't scrap from a furniture manufacturer!! and I remember the days of REAL beanbag chairs, and unfortunately it would be cost prohibitive to ship something this size with that kind of weight. It's a shame because if this were a real beanbag chair like days of old I'd be one happy camper. Instead, we get foam. Foam, NOT memory foam like an expensive mattress or pillow. That would be better. Just regular ground up foam that compresses and requires constant fluffing and the longer I own it the less I like it. I was not happy with the amount of fill originally supplied and the company happily supplied more which constitutes about 15-20% more and it helped a lot. The product is designed fairly well, with a double zipper system on the inner liner to prevent tearing. The outer shell has some lackluster sewing workmanship on the seams, and when reported to the company they assured me that they would stand behind their product even years down the road and I believe them. It's unlikely the seams will ever be an issue because there's not really ever much of a load put on them so it's no big deal and might just be a fluke. Unfortunately it's not too comparable to an old time beanbag chair, and that's not necessarily saying it's a bad product. Keep in mind that a good chunk of the price is the free shipping, which even with a corporate account probably still has to be a good $60, probably more to the east coast customers. The bottom line (pun intended) is that after having it for about a month now my overall sentiment is that it's a bit too pricey. $300+ goes a long way in today's global economy, although it is nice to know it's made domestically. I went with this brand because one of the others has a review showing the fill as recycled foam and some stuff that is essentially garbage!! I believe this brand claims the foam is virgin, and it seems to be, but nonetheless much of it in my opinion is probably the wasted stuff cut to make other products, so my point is that the price point is high for the probable cost of making this product. I'm not unhappy with it, nor do I regret the purchase because I wanted something as unique as myself and this is unique for sure!! Oh, one last very important thing: I contacted the company because I thought they sent me a smaller size by accident and they assured me they did not. For some reason they overstate the size. They mentioned something about the "floor space needed being 8 feet." Well, I really wanted an 8 foot product. It's not the end of the world that it is not but it's nice to know in advance so I'm letting you know. The product when fluffed is about 6.5 feet at best end to end. Right now mine is WAY overdue for fluffing so it is all flattened out and at maximum length and measures an inch or two short of 7 feet, and that's the very tips which of course are a radius. Once again, this does not mean it's a bad product, it's just not 8 feet long. My guess is that the public isn't generally prepared for the chairs to be as big as they are and the company had problems in the past and/or is trying to prevent issues with them being too big? I can understand that since the public nowadays has no common sense, but I think they should reconsider. I want to know what a product measures, then decide on what to buy, not be misled because our politicians spend our tax money subsidizing millions of idiots who will screw up their decisions!! I'm happy with the product, and if you're looking for something out of the ordinary I'd say go for it as long as you are OK with the price for a big bag of shredded foam (a VERY NICE bag of shredded foam!!), and keep in mind that they are about a foot and a half smaller than described :))
So, the shape is like a doughnut stick you'd get from dunkin donuts, it's kinda low to the ground. It hasn't puffed up 100% as it apparently takes 24 hours to do so I'm sure what to really expect. I did sit it in for about five minutes and sank immediately to the ground, which was something i was not enthused about.
If it doesn't puff up more than what it currently is than I will be buying some polyurethane/durafoam filling to help it out some.
I will revise the rating and review in a few weeks.
Customer service is huge for me and Slacker Sacks customer service is seemingly nonexistent.
