Does, it work? Yes.
Would I put this in a professional project as a display? No, the fit and finish is too low even for a bare PCB.
It's up to the hobbyist if they are ok with this. For me, It's good enough for messing around but not for showing off.
Note: this is not a kit and all of the soldering was as sold. I could have resoldered the headers but I chose not to do that.
