This review is of the SMALLRIG 15mm Railblock Rod Clamp with 1/4"-20 Thread. I used the 15mm Railblock Rod Clamp with a Neewer Universal Aluminum 15mm Rail Rod Support System High Riser DSLR Camera Mount Baseplate and a CAMVATE Aluminum Alloy Camera Handle Grip. This provided part of a custom-made extended handle system for use with my Tamron 150-600mm G2 tele lens. The function was to provide control and support for the 7.5 lb lens and camera system during hand held shooting.
The SMALLRIG 15mm Railblock Rod Clamp is well made and easily locked onto the 60mm center to center spaced 15 mm rods of the Neewer High Riser block system.
Because of the multiple tapped holes in the SMALLRIG 15mm Railblock Rod Clamp it is possible to mount the handle in its normal vertical operating position or to mount it horizontally between the 15 mm rails for storage or transport.
