Made of AUS-8 steel with an attractive satin finish, the 2.65-inch straight edge, folding blade has a drop point shape that sharpens easily and makes quick work of any task. This knife features a pass-through lockbar where the "kick" of the blade sticks through. By pressing on the "kick", you initiate the one hand opening of the blade and SOG Assisted Technology takes over using high-tension coil springs to finish opening and securely locking the open blade in place. The ergonomically contoured and well-balanced handle has a graphite finish and is made of anodized aluminum that will fit comfortably in your hand. A fixed pocket clip is located on the back of the handle that can also double as a money clip. This lightweight folding knife is easy to carry with a closed length of 3.55-inches, overall length of 6.20-inches, blade thickness of 0.1-inches and a weight of 2.60-ounces. The SOG Specialty Knives & Tools TWI8-CP Twitch II Knife with Straight Edge Assisted Folding 2.65-Inch AUS-8 Steel Blade comes with a limited lifetime warranty that protects against defects in manufacturing and materials. SOG Assisted Technology Increases Speed, Safety, and Usability
When you go to unfold the TWI-8's blade, SOG's patented S.A.T. (SOG Assisted Technology) takes over. High-tension coil springs propel the blade open, so you can easily access the TWI-8's blade with just one hand. Additionally, the unique design of S.A.T. knives offers security and peace of mind by incorporating locking mechanisms that are stronger, more reliable, and easier to access than conventional liner locks.
Cryogenic Heat Treatment for a Sharp, Dependable Blade
The TWI-8 offers a full, 2.68-inch, AUS8 stainless steel blade with an attractive satin finish. Because the workhorse of any knife is its cutting surface, SOG's proprietary Cryogenic Heat Treatment process ensures that its blade will stay sharp over the long haul. This intensive process takes more than 48 hours and requires reducing the blade's temperature to less than -300 degrees Fahrenheit, then slowly heating the blade to room temperature. The stress created by this process strengthens the stainless steel at the atomic level and increases the blade's overall durability and edge retention.
Ergonomic, Lightweight Design Ensures Comfortable Use
Even if your blade is sharp, it's hard to make precise cuts if your knife doesn't fit comfortably in your hand. That's why this knife's handle is ergonomically contoured. Crafted from hard-anodized 6061-T6 aluminum, the textured handle is also slip-free and well-balanced.
And at just 2.6 ounces, this folding knife is lightweight and easy to carry. A reversible clip extends from the back of the handle, allowing the knife to sit low in your pocket for the most discreet carry possible. An added bonus, the pocket clip can double as a money clip.
This knife is backed by a lifetime warranty that protects against defects in manufacturing and materials.

Top customer reviews
In addition to a solid knife, I love the support SOG offers. I happen to live near their headquarters and have stopped in a couple times for a free sharpen. My spring also broke one time and they fixed it on the spot in under 5 minutes. And, just today I stopped in because the little screws holding the clip on kept coming loose. They replaced the screws, put on some Loctite and sharpened it up. You can get that same service by shipping it to them if you don't live nearby - they'll even pay the return shipping.
I've looked at other knives, but have never seen one I'd rather carry than this one. If I lost this one today, I'd order a new one just as soon as I stopped crying (of course I'd have a tough decision between this one, the black one or the wood-handled one). I'll be buying one for my boys as soon as I feel they're ready to handle an assisted-opening knife.
When closed, the blade isn't always center. That may bother some people, but it is only a minor issue of appearance, and it in no way hinders the proper function of the knife. Maybe a little bit of blade play, but it is a folding knife. What can you expect? Not as much blade play as some of my other knives, but still not as little as my Cryo II.
The AO on this knife is very fast. I always use AO folders for the simple one-handed-ness they offer when working, and this one is one of my fastest (probably due to the smaller blade).
The locking mechanism on this knife is very unique for an AO folder. Or folders at all for that matter. It is very reliable for general use, but it appears to be in no means intended for rough use where you would use something like a fixed blade or a folder with a frame lock, where the entire frame has a cutout to lock the blade in place. The locking mechanism does include a safely, however. There is a switch on the spine by the lock where you can lock the blade closed to prevent accidental opening (which can suck) or open to prevent accident closure (which can suck even worse).
Oh, and it also ships blindingly sharp.
I would definitely recommend this knife. 5/5
Ps- I apologize for the spots on my blade in the photos. I have been using it for a while and need to clean and sharpen it once again. Figured I would give it a good run before I wrote a review.
I purchased this as a thank you gift for a gentleman I work with. He found and returned my eight+ year old Benchmade 585 Mini Barrage I lost on the shop floor. I'm incredibly impressed with the fit and finish and it came out of the package nice and sharp. The action is smooth and it locks up tight. The only gripe I have is the spring lacks the grunt to fully lock out. That's mostly due to the tension of the spine lock, which isn't a bad thing. It took all of five minutes to take about a quarter inch out of the spring and bend a new catch. Quick, easy modification, and now it opens with the same authority as my Benchmade. It's honestly not worth taking a star. Without the mod it still flipped open just fine, but I wanted it to finish completely under its own power. Personal preference I guess. I'm seriously considering one for myself for work carry. I wouldn't hesitate to EDC thus little guy.
Note: I added the Paracord lanyard; it doesn't come with the knife. The last pic is the recovered Benchmade for size comparison.
I frog lubed the little darn thing and it some what smoothed it out a bit.
